The other day, when I came out of my house, I found police tape everywhere and a Moving Van separated out as a crime scene at the part two blocks from my house.

It seems that the guy that had been sitting at the park selling weed for the last two days. Two young black kids came up, tried to steal the weed and shot him 3 times in the chest. A witness across the street, was working on a roof and witnessed the whole thing. The kids took off, jumped in a car and left the scene. They caught up with the kids two days later near Bakersfield CA.
Of this part, I have no problem, at least I know that the kids are not in the neighborhood and could shoot someone else.

Here comes my problem.
The family of the victim has set up a memorial around a tree in the park near where he was shot and killed. Instead of taking it down two days later, they have left it up and has someone sitting there making sure no one touches it.

This is right down the street from an Elementary School, and now the children are afraid to go near the park. When they get close to the park, they point at the Memorial and say "Dead Man... no go!."

I can understand that the family wants a memorial for the victim, but he was a drug dealer, and they are making him into some one special. I would like them to take the memorial down so that the children in the area will not be afraid to go to the park during the day to play.

When I asked them to take it down, they almost got violent with me and told me that they had Rights and it was going to stay up for a year. Ok,, But What about My Rights? I do not want to have to see this every day for a year. It is almost outside of my front door...enough is enough. I want it taken down.

Apparently the Drug Dealer has more rights than I do....
Am I wrong?
