I used to work all kinds of wild hours in a hospital research lab. Across from the lab was the hospital emergency room and suites, and beneath the lab was a large parking lot. One night after working on an experiment until the early a.m. hours I went down to the parking lot to my car, and felt/saw this person behind me. I can't describe how I "saw" it, it was more like I saw it right behind me in my mind as well as felt its presence overwhelmingly. It was a middle-aged black man dressed in surgical scrubs, with his eyes bugging wide open and his head covered in blood and brain matter. He was staring at me but staring through me, like he sensed I was there with the same mental level as an animal, or a zombie. I felt extremely cold and like I couldn't feel my body. He was staring right through me. An overwhelming nausea came over me. It freaked me out so much I screamed, jumped in my car and raced home. I was unable to sleep that night and attributed it to stress and working too late.

The next day, I overheard some coworkers gabbing and one of them mentioned something about an "accident" in the parking garage a few years prior. I asked her what she meant and she said that the research veterinarian in charge of the animal colonies in the department had suffered from severe depression and shot himself in the head in the parking garage. He had been an African-American male in his mid-40s.

I didn't sleep that night, either.

When I was about 8, my parents were divorced. I would stay at my dads in the summer. He lived with his girlfriend and her 5 year old son. We would sleep in the same king size bed. One night I was just freaked out and laying there with blanket over my head in the nearly dark room. Her kid was sound asleep. I kept hearing footsteps come up to the bed and then walk away. I kept pretending I was asleep. I just kept getting more freaked, but was scared stiff. I heard a voice say my name in a very hissy, old woman, almost like a witch. But in a way, like I know your awake. I laid there frozen, as if my worst fears had been realized. I forced myself to jump out of bed and run..

The adults said it was one of them after finding me in a shocked state. I go in between of believing they made up that to comfort me. There was no logic to anyone doing that. I still sleep with blanket over my head ever since. Im 50 now.

I've heard do not do EVPs. That opens all kinds of invitations for beings to enter your life. Kinda like making eye contact with a beggar.

I was on a date and we stopped at a Starbucks for coffee before the movie. We waited for a strange couple to pass on the sidewalk so we could enter the coffee place. A short chubby man was carrying a huge cake box and a tall skinny blind woman with dark glasses and a cane she tapped the ground with. They stopped and the man asked me ..."Do you want to eat my pussy?" He opened the cake box revealing a huge hairy pussy cake. I said sure and stuck my finger right in there and licked my finger as we went in for coffee. My date just looked stunned.

Maybe that's true for people who aren't grounded, but I have no beings in my life and I have done it many times. You have to be grounded, though.

I watched a plant grow once. Really it grew right in front of me.

Also my friends and I decided to use a ouija board . Well I asked it a question only I knew. My mothers maiden name. She is passed. The ouija answered correctly. If freaked me out big time and I never touched that stuff again.

Driving down an off-road area (dirt road, but still driveable) in the middle of nowhere with a friend at night. Headlights on the truck go out. When they come back on, there is standing fog all around us. Deciding we should get the heck out of there, we drive back - only now the road is covered with little dead animals. Last time I was there lol.

FYI, to any GLP old-timers, I mentioned this is my old "Weird San Diego" thread from years back ;)

I used to suffer from sleep paralysis a lot, that's about the worse thing I've had happen to me.

I was leaving a store once and a man approached me out of no where and asked me for a dollar, I was a bit stunned at how rough he looked and how he could have approached me from such a large empty parking lot, since I was parked at the end of it... I said sure and gave him a dollar, as I went to turn and continue towards my car, he said "excuse me, may I have another dollar?" At about this time, I had one of those instinctive feelings, the feelings you can't make up, they "just happen", and the feeling told me this homeless person was not what he appeared to be. I looked at him, and said yes, and gave him another dollar, and turned to go back to my car again. Maybe five seconds later, I went to turn around and to ask the homeless man his name, and he was gone. There was absolutely no where he could have gone out of eye sight, this is in the middle of a huge empty parking lot.

Creepy experiences!!!

When I was a small child I was almost kidnapped by gypsies.........seriously

I didnt know it at the time because I was in an arcade (at a truck stop) and preoccupied as any kid would be. it was a male and female. They followed me around and never left my side while I played the games. I remember it very well.

my grandfather was watching me the whole time from a distance. when he became wise to what he thought was going on he called my name and asked if i needed more quarters, i turned and yelled back no. they saw him, turned around and left quickly.

it wasnt creepy at the time but now when i think about what could have happened it creeps me out very much.

I have a lot more stories too, that is just one of my more heart warming experiences. I have weird stuff happen to me a lot.

I worked for an animal shelter and hear and see sad stories about every pets that comes in.

One dog, a very friendly lab collie mix, personality of a care bear. Just wants loving and hugs. Was in there because his owner died.

Every day , i try to make him comfortable because he just lay in the pen and just whimper and cry. Three days later i noticed he was sitting up right wagging his tail while an old man was talking to him

Didnt think much about it.

Saw the old man again inside talking with the lab and again, the dog was as happy as he can be.

This continued about 2 weeks and others saw this interaction of the same old man and dog just happily being together.

We dont think much of it because we always get visitors that just want to see the animals, bring foods, donations, toys, etc but this old man always comes formthe same dog.

One day another coworker came out freaked out and reported the old man was in the kennel with the dog as she walked by and looked inside the area. Just a few seconds , she turned back to say hi and the old man was gone but the dog was still sitting up right and happy staring into an empty room. Another coworker said the same thing. We all see the same old guy. Never see him come in or leave, even from the reception area.

3 weeks later the dog was adopted by the son of the prefious owner. We found out the story that the son was visited by his father and asked him to get the dog in a dream only to find out his father passed on the night before.

We gave details of the old man and the son said that was his father, wearing the same favorite black cardigan sweater, always with the dog.

Since the dog was finally at a happy home within the family, we never saw that old man again.

A few people quit afterwards. They were happy about the story and was touched by it but it freaked us all out

Hatman?

When I first moved to this part of VA (on the Blue Ridge), I hiked alone into the middle of Shenandoah (started storming along the hike then it broke just long enough to set up my tent. At that time I was using psilocybe mushrooms for spiritual use and ate a very large dose.

At dusk, a large black bear starting snorting and circling around my camp. He/she was attracted to the smell of my dinner and was very persistent. I threw my dinner out and then left camp for a bit hoping that it would then leave (big mistake!). I came back right before dark and it was seemingly gone. I checked my cell phone and realized that it was almost dead at that point.

When the trip started hitting in large waves, the bear returned and continued circling my camp as I was sitting inside my tent. All I had on me was a small pocket knife and a dead cell phone.

For some reason my eyes were drawn to a particularly brilliant star that I felt sure wasn't a star at all. Throughout the night, my phone kept powering on, on it's own (never happened before or after), and I really felt that whatever it was in the sky was turning it on for me, because the sound it made when it powered on silenced everything outside the tent.

When I finally fell asleep (I couldn't tell you the hour), I had a very vivid dream of aliens standing over me and doing something to me.

As soon as dawn broke, I packed everything up and made the long, and uneventful hike back to my car.

I went panning for gold in Jamestown Ca. several years back and stayed at a local hotel that was known to be haunted.
I specifically asked for the room that had the most activity thinking I could handle the experience.
Almost immediately I could sense that my usual sunniness was under attack.
Went to bed and left the TV on Cartoon Network to keep me company (haha)
Deep into the night I began to hear the noise. At first in my dreams and eventually causing me to awaken.

To the left of the television was a dresser drawer where I had left an open bag of chips.... crinkle crinkle went the noise .... crinkle crinkle --
It just kept going. i turned the tv's sound down and began to make out a silver light hanging about the chip bag.....
I was freaked out but consoled myself into thinking it was a mouse.
Mind you, the dresser was 5 feet tall and would have been a trick for a mouse to scale.....
crinkle crinkle -- the bag kept being violated and all i could do was stay put and pray.....eventually i nodded off and all was well.
In the morning i approached the chip bag and found no evidence of droppings or nibbling...no trail of chips...no crumbs.....

freaked me out! who would've guessed that the afterlife folk like their potato chips!
They sure as hell have a scary way of helping themselves.....

When I was younger, and moved into an apartment building...I had only been there maybe a month or so...I left for work, came home, and I just got this really strange feeling when I got inside my apartment. Kinda creepy still thinking about it! I noticed that the doors on my entertainment unit were very slightly open; most people probably wouldn't have even noticed, but I'm a neat freak and would never leave anything open like that, not even just a tiny bit. Then, I went into my bedroom, and the drawers on my dresser/nightstand were the same, just opened a very tiny amount. Scared the poop outta me. I called my super, and I didn't even know what to tell them because it's not like anything was stolen, I just told them that I felt like someone had been in my apartment. They told me to call them if anything else happened or if I noticed anything missing because there wasn't anything they could do since nothing was stolen. It was a very scary feeling to feel like someone had been in there.

I was stood on the rear balcony of our office having a smoke one lunchtime when I felt a jab on my shoulder, which is something my boss would do if he wanted me back in the office. I gestured that I'd be right through without turning round, then finished my cigarette and walked back through the building.

The place was empty - I was the only one there.

One night when i was a kid i was awake and i heard someone breathing in my room. I could hear it from a very specific location. When i gathered the courage to pull on the lights i saw my teddy bear at that location. It was quite far from my bed and im not sure how it got so far, i usually kept them in my bed.

Shortly after moving into our current house I was in the basement unpacking some things when the lights went out. I headed up stairs to go check the breaker box when, as I was climbing the stairs all the lights in the house started flashing. The lights were not simply all flashing on and off as if there were a power outage or something, however. The lights were actually all flashing independently of one another, even lights on the same switched circuit... This went on for about 20 seconds and thoroughly freaked out my wife and kids and I. There have been other ocurrances in this house over the years as well, I may get to those later...
