Making change and flipping burgers. This is what happens when the job market goes to real shit and the entitlement generation moves in. Fast food jobs have traditionally been jobs for high school and college kids, now we have a bunch of uneducated 35 year olds working these unskilled labor jobs and they want real work money, you know, like what a school teacher makes, or a skilled line laborer, or a truck driver, pick any $30-35k a year job. For most you need a fucking education and some skills!! Sorry I do not have time to read through the thread. however, I do have a response to this. I think it would be great to give $15 an hour to fast food workers. In fact I think that in certain places with high costs of living they already get that. I also think it would be great for people like myself who worked hard to get new skills and an education and work in positions that incur a high level of responsibility and know how should also make twice what we are currently making. Our wages corrected for inflation have actually gone down in the last 2o years while the top dogs in upper management are stealing all the wealth for themselves. Not to mention the banks. Seriously give the burger flippers $15 an hour and I want double too. WTF??? Am I right??? You cannot destroy my vision when you see my vision undestroyed because I am just an undestroyer. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 43813351 IT'S BEFORE THE DAMN UNIONS FUCKED UP THE AUTO INDUSTRY DETROIT. der............. You could work on the assembly line making about $10/hr. (good money then), and then the unions came in and said they should DEMAND $12- or $15 - that $10/hr wasn't a living wage.....and it was off to the races. Then auto union workers got $15-$25, $30-40/hr. until it was unsustainable unless cars cost $30-40,000 or more - OH WAIT!! THEY DO!!!!!!!!!1 So now nobody buys those cars, nobody works in those assembly lines (cause the factories cannot afford to pay those wages), nobody has jobs, or pensions, etc. Why? Because their previous pay was NOT A LIVING WAGE. Now we're doing the same damn thing to the fast food industry?!?!?!?! Go to school, get a REAL education, and then get a real fucking job if you want to make more money, moran. Don't fuck up the low wage, ENTRY-LEVEL jobs in fast food.' It won't end well for anyone. i thank god for the unions in aussie..if it wasn't for them we would be getting, well $4 an hour like you mericans ;) |
