The US dollar is propped up by the Saudis after Nixon took US off the gold standard (1971?) - deal to let OPEC (founded THEN (1972?) charge what it wanted (gas shortages anyone - 1973 lines). The deal with OPEC set up the dollar as the ONLY oil exchange currency. Libya, Iran and now China and Russia are thumbing their noses at this and exchanging for gold or other goods OUTSIDE the dollar.
The US HAS to go after them to stay afloat. Britain had a deep depression in early 1970's due to USD becoming world reserve currency over the British pound.

But I think Russia is making the SAUDIS a better deal by putting a gas pipeline from Saudi Arabia (It was called "Arabia" before OPEC - the House of Saud leads to the British Monarchy- another rabbit hole)Anyway - Russians can team up with the Saudis to go under Syria with a gas (natural) pipeline and they will pay in gold - not depreciating and imploding dollars- so Saudis agreed to the pipeline that allows Russians to have a monopoly into Europe of energy.
(When Cyprus banks taken over by IMF they wanted the gas lines owned by Gasprom that go through Cyprus territory - and Russians had most of the money in the Cyprus banks.IMF settled for 40% of the depositors money -so if you have money in ANY bank anywhere you are not paying attention to put it politely)
The total collapse of the US dollar is a certainty - its just a matter of when. They will become toilet paper. China used to buy 2/3 of ALL auctions of USTreasuries until they stopped. They announced a "taper" off of five years a few years ago.
So with noone else to buy them guess who buys these auctions??? The FED! So we write a check for debt and then buy it with printed money out of thin air and put the debt notes in a drawer to deal with "later". The FED also confirmed it owns 10% of the stock market (at least) EVERY number you see on main stream media is cooked - unemployment, stocks,etc.
Unemployment does not count those that did not get a job and ran out of unemployment benefits.

The US DOLLAR needs this war to prop up our failed monetary system and quash those that trade outside the dollar for oil. They even make the American people slaves to the oil trade by importing oil even though we have enough to supply ourself with shale oil for 100 years. But that would bring the price down - and as long as we buy it from the Middle East they will prop up the dollar. So they soak the public and don't let us develop our own resources. They care nothing for the people and would gladly slaughter lots of them and create a "jobs" plan with WW3. So thats the economic lesson.
There is a deeper and nefarious level of control over the US through the banks that is much darker than these economic facts. But start by following the money.

I've read some reports that this is more likely tied to a pipeline from Quatar through Syria to the Mediterranian. A natural gas pipeline. The Arabs want the European market which Russia now controls. That would explain the Sauds interest in this conflict. I also read that an oil pipeline is being proposed from Iran through Syria to the coast and that is threatening the Saudi's interest and the petrodollar which would be a threat to the national security of the US. If the US loses the petrodollar status we will collaspe hard. Harder than Greece. Our money would be worthless. I think the second scenario is the only thing that could draw both the republicans and democrats together in this conflict. It DEFINITELY is not about chemical weapons.
