There is someone in my life who attends church regularly, yet makes me and my life unhappy. This person believes they are righteous and is constantly using biblical terms to bless me. Their true actions make me feel anything but blessed, this person's actions are hurtful to me and others around me. This person has been out of my life for the past several years, but due to life's circumstances, I have had to reconnect with them..

How do I deal with someone I view as a hypocrite when they seem to believe they are right and everyone else is wrong?

The scriptures are not to be interpreted by humans. The scriptures sometimes explain themselves or the spirit teaches the believers.Do not let humans or anything besides God teach you about God!

Unfortunately, I have tried what you suggested. This person will look you right in the eyes and deny everything you say, even that the sky is blue.

Its like beating your head against a brick wall. No accountability, no communication, just ..nothing.

Harbinger - you may 'think' you have the truth posting all the scriptures the way you do - but remember, the truth is revealed by the Holy Spirit to people - look at the Proverbs that 'honey in our words' attracts many lost bees.

Grace is the milk that needs to flow from us - and that's only achieved by working out OUR own salvation and not others.

By all means, preach Christ, but NOT a KJV of harsh legalistic archaic tones - Jesus said we are to LOVE Him with all our being, and we are to love others as we do ourselves, if we carry these two truths in our arms everywhere we go, there we will see much fruit be hanging around us.

Remember though, large fruit trees are planted with only a tiny seed, let the Lord water your words, His living water is absent of dangerous chemicals or fluoride - as ours can sometimes be contaminated with.

If you have a disagreement, prove it scripturally. When it comes to the things of God, the opinions of man do not matter. God defines God. Man does not define God. The Creator gives the creation purpose. Not vice versa.

Keep trying & you yourself do what you can seeking truth holding them accountable, if there is someone who can help that is good & trustworthy This has to be done in transparency without manipulation of any kind.
Seek the Lord He will help you. Things that seem impossible with Him
only seem that way at times... & upon closer examination are not.
