~Obamacare~ States Opting out of the State Run Insurance Exchanges | |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4223140 The state based exchanges ARE what the federal subsidies are for IN THE BEGINING, then they expire and the states have to SELF-FUND them and they will go bankrupt trying to do so. That's just your uneducated opinion. State Health Care Exchanges Cost. Proponents deflect attention from the true cost of the exchanges by focusing on the PPACA grants to fund states establishing them. However, unlike past federal-state policy ventures, like Medicaid or even the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), there will be no steady flow of federal dollars to the states. The law specifies that starting in 2015, any state implementing a state exchange must develop its own revenue source to fund the exchange’s annual operations. That puts the long-term costs squarely on the states. Moreover, the recent announcement by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) that it will levy a 3.5 percent administrative fee on coverage sold through the federally run exchanges indicates there are significant costs if a state agrees to run its own exchange.[1] LIKE I SAID GO BUY A FUCKING EDUCATION The above FACT is from the HERITAGE FOUNDATION, I guess that is their uneducated opinion Maybe I needed to see what Glen Beck has to say. lol |

Many RED states are going to be levied a 3.5 percent administrative fee and will cost federal taxes to implement, all bc they didn't set up their own State run insurance exchange. Expect higher costs due to opting out. IT IS CHEAPER TO PAY THE 3.5 FEE AND HERE IS AN EXAMPLE: Just this week a Maryland panel recommended to that state’s governor and legislature new taxes and fees to fund its state exchange.[2] The Maryland report projects annual administrative costs for the state’s exchange of $201 per enrollee in 2015, declining to $152 per enrollee in 2017. In contrast, applying the 3.5 percent fee set by HHS to the $2,770 national average per-capita premium for all commercial group and individual major medical insurance sold in 2011 yields a projected annual administrative cost for exchanges of $97 per enrollee. The much higher Maryland figures are significant as they reflect thorough and detailed work by the state most committed to implementing a state Obamacare exchange.[3] This is estimated on their bullshit numbers....it is always higher. Done with it, you're too stupid to get it. Enjoy ur life |

I can't wait to see the reaction of the fraction of Obama's core that have jobs, when they have to pony up $21K per year for the cheapest exchange plan. This is how a leftist, Marxist, Muslim runs a country. Just turn over health care to the careful guidance of an insurance industry executive. Yup libtards, that's who designed your Obamacare. The blow back this November will be fierce. It's just a shame that the phony republicans can't manage their way out of a paper bag, and often are nearly as much of a tool as Obummer. Obama's only hope now is to create enough welfare cheats that depend on the state to carry the next few elections. Those people never pay for anything. With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible |

Quoting: R.P. McMurphy Just another ignorant-ass sequester shill. Correct the list for me, thanks. Well, for one thing, Arizona became the 17th state to opt out in November of 2012, but has since agreed to set up an exchange so they don't even belong on your list. The number of states opting out as of September 2013 is 26. It would actually be easier to put a list of those states who are participating: Arizona. California. Connecticut. District of Columbia. Hawaii. Illinois. Maryland. Massachusetts. Minnesota. New York. Vermont. Washington. Yes, those bills did indeed become law, both State and Federal. As have many other mandatory health and safety laws such as inoculations, etc. Where I have great concern is with the lack of planning by the Feds for oversight and auditing. This program will be a free-for-all for fraud, waste, and abuse exactly as Medicare and Medicaid are currently. By all rights, rather than implement a new program, the Feds had an existing plan, Medicaid, that if expanded to include low income insurees would have been a viable and acceptable alternative. With proper oversight and auditing of course. This is where I am stumped, OP. The need for a new medical insurance program was and is not there. What are the Federalists hoping to achieve?
