I'm thinking about penny stocks too.

Pure gambling, even more so than buying larger stocks.

If you happen to get in one before a pump n dump, you can literally make 1000% in a day. The next day, you'll lose most of it.

i did penny stocks. that 1000$ can and usually will turn into .01 cents literally 10 seconds after you execute the trade.

Think of them like lotto tickets.

They grow by these shitty penny stock websites promoting certain stocks. People rush in to get a piece, the person running the website gets the fuck out and leaves most everyone else holding the bag.

Look up "pump and dump". If you are in before the pump and are aware of when to dump you will make good money. If you buy at the wrong time you are a "bag holder". Virtually no penny stocks are legit companies but shells bought and sold to set-up pink sheet companies who create "news" and have paid touters and bashers to guide the sheep in the direction desired. I learned this the hard way to a stock called CMKX and the guy who ran it. That may be the biggest of these scams ever done.

I dabbled a few years back with penny shares.

I bought some shares for 46p each and they shot up to £5 each in about a year. Now,I think this same company is worth £16 a share, I took the money and ran, it does not pay to hang around.

But must admit, I think I lost more than made, you have to choose the right stocks and not get greedy. Do not expect to double your money on one investment, sell once they have gone up something like 15-20%, then start again and buy new stock.

With the impending Fed tapering about to begin....be careful.
You can loose your ass easy with these penny stocks.

The time to play this game was when Bernanke / Obama started propping up the stock market with $$$.

Thing about stocks like this is, when you buy - someones selling to you, when you sell - someones buying from you. it's not just outer space that the money goes and comes from.

Originating person owns alot of stock from this company, then promotes the company and stock. People want to buy the stock based on a feeling and marketing rather than the company fundamentals which makes the stock price rise artificially. Price goes up alot, people buy said stock from originating person. Suckers realize company is not worth stock price so they unload worthless stock to the next sucker and so on till the price crashes to an artificial low.

Meanwhile, originating person sold lots of cheap stock at an artificially inflated price to suckers. Suckers got left holding the bag and originator made out like a bandit.

Only invest in a small penny stock company if you have done your homework on the company and plan on a long term strategy. Difference between .10 stock, $30.00 stock, and $600.00 stock. Don't use it as a gambling machine and you will be ok.

you can make fast money, but you can lose just as fast, its a gamble, ive had a few nice hits, but you have to get lucky and jump on the pump and dumps fast and jump off just as fast, if you get left holding your screwed til the stock pumps again. as with everything the odds are against you.

Get the right penny stock and 1,000 can turn in to 100,000 in a matter of days. I've done it (once) and seen it happen several times. How long? No way to answer that. Stocks move in wild ways. What's selling for a few pennies now can quickly shoot up to 10 or 50 or 100 per share and when it does you shares that you bought for 3 cents a piece are then worth $100. per share.

But you've got to know what to buy and how to buy it and most of all, when to buy it!

OP, you've come to the wrong place with the wrong question. Do some research. Read some books. Are you ready to lose $1000.?

It is all about being in on or at least figuring out the stock to be pumped and knowing how fast to seel before people catch on. It is dependent on a market full of suckers willing to buy on phony "news" and hype.

I'm assuming you meant steal, but sounds about right. They sure are doing a lot of advertising.
