Anonymous Coward User ID: 47435795 Germany 09/26/2013 12:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The USA will be the very last country to go down, because of the nature of the petrodollar, which functions as a reserve currency. That means, every nation that wants to buy oil on the world market needs to obtain greenbucks first...by selling stuff to the USA. The USA gets cars, food, natural ressource imports, and the seller gets greenbacks to buy oil in return. This is how the system works. So even worldwide economic collapse will affect the USA less than every other country in the world. No, the USA will be brought down by something else. Something unexpected and big enough to topple an empire. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28450574 Thats the problem, its the end of the petrodollar. When that happens every country that uses the dollar will collapse. We hear stories every day of how virtually every country is experiencing a downward economic shift. Wouldn't some countries have to be experiencing an economic boom then? I want to know which countries are benefiting from the economic downfall of the rest. |

They print all this extra currency to keep away from a credit crunch, but the catch is when we slip and manufacturing falters we all end up with a lot of cash and no product and that becomes inflation. Why would I take dollars for food if I have as much money as I want from the bank for record low interest rates, interest rates lower than the inflation itself, basically free money.
