Great Shake Out: Earthquake Preparedness
But if you have qualms about working with the feds, plenty of survivalist books, videos and websites have a wealth of knowledge that can fully train you and yours in disaster readiness. My current favorite is Mat Stein’s When Disaster Strikes, which includes a forward by James Wesley Rawles, survivalist author of the book deemed “the most dangerous novel in America” (referring to Patriots, 2009) and creator of www.survivalblog.com.

I know how important it is to be prepared. So, for whatever is coming, here's another article regarding preparedness. The more we know is definitely the better we'll be prepared!

Re: Great Shake Out: Earthquake Preparedness
Once every year the state of California has an annual statewide earthquake drill. All schools, and government business comply with the drill, as does local, and state television, and radio broadcasters. It's a great way to raise awareness to safety, and hopefully encourage residents in our state to practice safety and have a safety plan.

One year I forgot about this, and the drill lasted for 10 or so minutes I believe. The TV said an earthquake was imminent and to take shelter outdoors lying flat on the ground and away from objects. Anyone in their cars should stop, or drive to safety.

I was scared shitless until my neighbor reminded me it was a drill. Made my blood pressure rise.
