The "Grey Hairs" are the ones who made this country so wealthy to begin with. They are the ones with the "work ethic" and believed they had to go out to work every day for the sake of the country. It was not supposed to have been spent but the Klintoons couldn't keep their grubby hands off of it. They are the ones who were acting "entitled". My 90+ mother is living off of her SS and it's barely enough to keep her housed and fed. What should she do, go get a job?

The Government made a deal with these folks that they would "borrow" this money and then give it back upon their retirement. It's NOT an entitlement.

All American money needs to STAY in this country and used to build it back up. Take care of those who are TRUE Americans, not the others....

Sorry but nobody in the history of the United States signed a contract with the federal gov that stipulated if X amount was allowed to be held out of each paycheck it would be returned to the donor with interest of whatever when said donor hit X age. People VOLUNTARILY contribute money from each paycheck for the SS fund and there was never any guarantee that it would ever be returned to anyone. When you sign your W2 at your job workin' for the man you volunteer that money from each paycheck can be sent to the gov for the SS fund but there is no guarantee that it will ever be returned to you. There is only an assumption that it will be returned at some point in the future. There is no obligation that it will be and there is certainly no obligation that future generations will have to pay for the funds you volunteered that were spent the minute they left you paycheck to be returned to you in the future. SS needs to be cut the fuck off.

The ONLY people who sign a contract with the gov that stipulates if they do XYZ they will get XYZ are soldiers who enlist in the military. The basis of this country is contract law and the only people that the gov OWES any compensation to are the people that signed those contracts. If the person who enlists in the military fulfills their part of the contract then the gov is obligated to compensate them for it.

you must be in your early teens. how could someone save money when the government is taking your surplus every pay check ? if given a choice most would have saved more, but in the real world most live pay check to pay check. I think they should make all young people work and tax the hell out of them.
