Texas (where I currently live) is pretty cool about gun laws and most LEA don't mess with you - however, there are liberal cities like Austin and San Antonio where laws are very restrictive. In Alaska, gun laws are also fairly lax but much of the state is Federal property (39% vs Texas 2%)and don't allow firearms except for hunting. Cost of living in Texas is cheap compared to Alaska (a dozen eggs in Tx about $1.75, in Ak, about $5.75) BUT, if you really wanted to disappear - Alaska is where you want to go, but be warned - THE WINTERS ARE BRUTAL AND A NOVICE WOULD NOT SURVIVE LONG !!!! |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 43230739 United States 10/17/2013 10:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, Ive been living in Alaska for 5 years but I really want to live in Texas because I hear it's a god fearing, gun loving state but I'm worried If I move my family there I won't have the type of freedom I have grown accustomed to here in Alaska. The problem here in Alaska is the Pfds that we receive have invited only leeching pacific islanders. All these Samoans are coming up here and taking over and show no desire to be a part of the community. They are stealing and causing tons of violence in Anchorage. I was at Fred Meyers and a group of huge Samoans came in and filled their carts up with all the meat you can think of and walked strait out glaring at everyone as if to challenge someone to stop them. Screw this Im sick of being hated by my neighbors for being a white guy. I want to go to Texas and raise my kids in a conservative white community where they won't get jumped by blacks and Samoans every freaking day. If you live in Texas or have before please give me some advice on areas that I should consider. I am very serious about this and have the cash to do it now. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 43280107 United States 10/17/2013 10:45 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lived here (TX) my whole life (33 yrs). My ancestors have been here since the early 1800s. Actually moving to alaska next year. In either state, you pretty much have to go rural if you don't want to deal with the typical bullshit of urban multiculturalism (e.g. crime, shitty schools, garbage strewn about, etc.). Btw, the public school system is pretty much shit everywhere. Homeschool, some private schools, or just forget about it. The rural parts of texas are great, same as alaska. The big cities though, will offer you nothing but horrible schools, loads of blacks and hispanics, and liberal governance. (Houston has been democrat for ages btw). Bottom line, if you plan to move to an urban or suburban area, don't waste your time. You'll simply trade samoans and inuit for mexicans and blacks. If you're considering a rural area, bring it, texans like me welcome folks like you. Oh, no open carry of handguns in texas. If you want to carry concealed, you must get a permit. 1 day class, real easy. Also if you live in one of the largely populated counties like harris, generally the sheriffs will not sign off on a form for you to buy a class 3 weapon. In that case your only option is to form an llc or corp and do it that way |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 7384957 United States 10/17/2013 10:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Lived in both, Texas has pretty good gun laws, but Alaska is better on that front. In Texas you can pretty much have a garden year round. In Alaska you can grow some insane things in the very limited growing season. Both have wildlife, nod to Alaska on that one though. More, larger, less competition for resources. Then you get to winter. No com. Parison here. Texas gets big points on this one. Finally, population wise, there are plenty of rural areas in Texas, even some desolate ones. But Alaska..... There is a reason fugitives relocate to Alaska.... Fugitives who head for Texas are merely stopping for gas on their way to Mexico. |
