AKObserver User ID: 26954958 United States 08/22/2014 01:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Heads Up WA! Pet owners warned after plague — PLAGUE! — confirmed in Colorado Health officials in Colorado have issued a warning to residents in Boulder County that the bubonic plague has been found in fleas taken from a prairie dog. Notices posted on fence posts around a 44-acre open-space property say that "wild rodents and other small mammals" including squirrels, prairie dogs and rabbits "may be infected with plague." The signs recommend people treat their pets with anti-flea medication, avoid open spaces where the plague has been confirmed and avoid contact "with all sick or dead rodents." Other advice: · Avoid fleas. Protect pets with flea powder or drops, or a new flea collar. Keep pets on a leash and out of wild rodent habitats. According to KUSA-TV, it is the first confirmed case of plague in Boulder County since 2011, when a domesticated cat and a dead squirrel tested positive for it. According to the Boulder County Public Health Department, two squirrels had been tested for plague earlier this year, but those tests came back negative. locals should be on the lookout for symptoms of plague ("sudden onset of fever and chills, severe headache, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, general feeling of systemic (whole body) illness, extreme pain and swelling in the lymph node") and seek immediate treatment. Plague can be treated with antibiotics, the officials added, but treatment is “most successful when the disease can be diagnosed quickly." More [link to news.yahoo.com] |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19865486 United States 08/22/2014 02:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ... Quoting: Spirit Warrior 30 Awe Simple...love your pictures. So much meaning behind them. Pink- Unconditional Love; Blue- Peace And Healing; Yellow- Faith And Intelligence; Purple- Intuition And Inner Knowing! Your Beautiful Sky! It truly was beautiful! : ) The pictures do it no justice (taken with my iphone lol). All of a sudden my living room started glowing pink so I went to the window and was stunned! I had to go out and get some pics. I love the meanings you mention. Makes me wonder if there was a deeper reason that I was awake to see it. I've never seen the sky here look that beautiful. I think the sky was giving u a gift of unconditional love, and reminding you to embrace your gifts that live within you. What an amazing moment for you...a glowing pink filling your living room...and filling you with AWE... It was a nice gesture from the sky...considering the damage it's been doing to me lately. It really was breath-taking though. There is only one other time that I found the sky here stunning, although not even close to this morning. It was sunset... IMAGE ( [link to i57.tinypic.com] ) IMAGE ( [link to i62.tinypic.com] ) Those were this past winter taken from my mom's house : ) WoW...love these pics too. More pink for you and lines too (lots of them). Amazing. I am sorry that it is being hard on you lately. :( But on the other hand, you have the power to endure and the capability to receive impressions...which is the gift of being sensitive to EVERYTHING around you. Just hang in there, do the little things (get more sleep...lol, have quiet and stress free time for yourself, dance with your sis :)) to help you get through the physical, emotional, and spiritual strains. Stay strong Simple! And thanks for sharing your pictures...pretty amazing with lots of meaning. :) |

Simple27 (OP) User ID: 57832527 United States 08/22/2014 02:39 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Love when you post, SW! : ) Sensitive to everything...yes. I either wasn't always this way or just wasn't in tune with it. Not sure really. But now I know. I knew prior to this past Tuesday, but had I not, I would have realized it then. Wow, it was so intense on Tuesday! This whole week has had an effect on me...especially my lack of sleep. *sigh* I know this week I have gotten far too little sleep. It's not intentional. There has just been an energy that I feel. I could have (and maybe should have) taken something to force myself to sleep, but I don't want to become dependant on anything to be able to sleep. I have enough problems in that department to add more to it. However, after a few too many nights of sleeplessness it is helpful to have that assistance. Should probably take something tonight...soon. I've already decided to take the day off tomorrow. I'm caught up (finally) and I need a little break. I also have a bunch of things to do for my sister's bridal shower on Saturday so it will help to have the day off. I haven't used a single day of my vacation time this year (I get 3 weeks) and I haven't even used up my sick days (I get 5 of those). So I'm using one of those many combined days tomorrow. I'm also beginning to truly wonder if I might be allergic to something there. The place stresses me out and is a ridiculous environment, but the physical effects it has on my body, skin, heart....I can't help but wonder. I don't know, just rambling on now, lol. Sorry. : ) :s27hearthands: ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

AKObserver User ID: 26954958 United States 08/22/2014 02:45 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | How Much is $100 Really Worth in Your State? This Map Will Show You The map shows the relative value of $100 in every state compared to the national average derived from data put out by the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and it sheds light on which state’s fiscal policies may be working better than others. Liberal states like New York and California are more expensive places to live, and the relative value of $100 is much lower than more conservative states such as Texas or Georgia. In fact, this pattern seems to repeat itself throughout the map. [link to madworldnews.com] |
