Been doing some more genealogy today on some of the more ancient ones, now that the info is easier to find. Found out that my gg+++ grandfather was born in 1540 Papplewick, England and he was a gamekeeper in Sherwood Forest for both Queen Elizabeth I and King James I until his death in Yorshire in 1612.

His 3 sons were all part of Cromwells' Army which was sent to Ireland to put down the Catholics. At the end of the campaign, all 3 were awarded land confiscated from the Catholics in lieu of pay and remained there for the next 3 generations.

3 gg grandsons (cousins) of those 3 sons migrated to America together and here I am.

Very cool, why is the info easier to find now. I get frustrated and stuck at barely finding my grandparents. Several hundred spent on the genealogy sites.

Alot of the info is uploaded to the net now. Gravesite info. Census rolls. Ships manifests. It takes years of digging and sorting, but it's slowly becoming easier to find.

Back when I started this, in order to get a ships manifest, you actually had to go to Annapolis and look through boxes and boxes of dusty records. And that was if you could even gain access to them.

There are groups now that are combing the back woods and mountains for the old family grave plots and marking them out. Family bible records and diaries are being uploaded. Little by little, it's all coming to the masses.

That's where I was lucky. Both sets of my grandparents would tell us stories of the old ways and days. I think it was more to keep themselves young than to teach us about our family..lol. And they were big on writing everything in the family bibles. And I mean everything...right down to selling off or buying livestock or land and for how much.

I alone painted my mom's entire condo a few months ago.

I used to enjoy painting until then. Now I'm good with painting again... ever!

I used to love painting. Back in my apartment I would change the colors of the walls all of the time. We had a 'hang out room' that went through many wall colors when we lived there lol.

The AC in my house doesn't reach the bathroom very well so it's hot in there, plus the paint fumes. I think I AM huffing it! tounge

Nuclear lab shutdown endangers US arsenal

An extended shutdown of the nation's only scientific laboratory for producing and testing the plutonium cores for its nuclear weapons has taken a toll on America's arsenal, with key work postponed and delays looming in the production of components for new nuclear warheads, according to government documents and officials.
