Greed and selfishness in the world. It's all about ME and what's in it for ME.
Ego is the result of depravity. Most everyone is seeking attention, admiration, acceptance, LOVE. All looking in the wrong places. Turn to God, who is LOVE and He will satisfy you and fulfill you with the LOVE and attention that you starve for.

Let's step back for a second, the ego is just another theoretical concept.I think it's wrong to go around claiming that the ego is causing this and that when the ego is just another unprovable theory. If people were saying, "I believe the ego is causing such and such", I have no problem with that.
