Are mixed martial arts fights fake?

I've seen schoolyards fights that looked a thousand times more intense then what i saw. I mean MMA is choregraphed or something, right?

You can that toward the end they are really angry and not holding back. But compare this to the UFC.

MMA is a gladiatorial spectacle for stupid people. It's marketed and geared towards the lowest common denominator. Same with football and other "sports". Truly for the ignorant and spiritually illiterate.

I am pretty sure the fights I have seen are real. I used to watch the Gameness crew train in TN before MMA was legal there. Saw my friend Bryan fuuuuuck a dude up here recently, too. Blood a plenty.

Oh yeah. There's way less corruption than in big $ boxing, but whenever there's big bucks in play, there will be some fixed fights.

you gotta remember too that MMA is a sport with rules and such. It's not real fighting.

It was real in the beginning up until this year when Anderson silva the realest fighter in the game decided to retire.

They staged a fight so Chris Weidman could become the new champion, theres no way in hell that chris won that fight fair and square.

I'm just saying that the fighters look like they are holding back and try not to hurt their opponent too much because they are good enough to kill, no doubt about that. They are being technical just to score points.

its real, im sure some fights are fixed, but that goes with the territory, if you look at all the early UFC and then look into who OWNED the company, you will see that many of the first ufc's were basically infomercials for gracie bjj...

im not saying all the early fights were fixed but they chose match-ups that obviously favored the bjj fighter, which at the time was easy because most US and European fighters had no been exposed to these fighting styles.

Bjj is very dangerous, so much so that some moves arent taught in certain gyms because even in training there is the possibility of causing serious damage.


The easy way to tell if its fake is to take a look at the rules and who enforces them.

look like they are holding back? so they aren't fighting in there 100 percent? good enough to kill? you need to get into reality and out of your fantasy world

it's about as dangerous as other contact sports. it's actually safer than most. also certain gyms don't teach the certain super secret techniques?

MMA is way lass exciting than it sounds since it usually ends up with two men rolling around.

Their faces are conditioned to getting hit. If a non fighter gets hit hard in the cheekbone it would probably break. Yet if you hit a pro fighter he would just get a bruise. Same if you kick a Thai boxer in the leg he wouldn't feel it, yet if he kicked a non fighter they wouldn't be able to walk.
I think some of the fights are fixed though, like most sports are.
