You ever heard of false prophets and scribes weren't just writers they were tax collect and law makers, kind of like D.C. congressmen. Priest followed false doctrine just like today, the more things change the more they stay the same.

Lairs and doubters are abundant back then, as well as today.
People with itchy ears going after false doctrine cause the truth scares them, why I do not know. Mostly they do not want their sins taken away!
