passing the sun, the comet will ignite or seem to ignite.. turning it red.

And the red kachina which the natives speak of is none other than the 'red dragon' of Revelation. basically two comets made a close pass of the earth in ancient times: a blue one and then a red one. The blue comet began to fragment, but to the ancients, they believed it was a woman in the heavens giving birth. They believed the following red comet / kachina was some celestial serpent / dragon chasing the 'woman' to eat 'her' 'child'.
