The judge said the calls are harrowing, but they do not identify any children, nor do they describe any injuries to a child.

"No children are identified by name. No caller indicates whether he or she could see whether any child has been injured," the judge wrote.

Sedensky also tried to justify the refusal to release the tapes by claiming that they are exempt from disclosure under a law that allows authorities to keep confidential signed witness statements in criminal investigations.

The judge also concluded that the public interest would be served with blocking disclosure of the tapes. He flatly rejected Sedensky's claim that their release would have a chilling effect on those who might need to call 911.

"There is not factual or legal support for this claim," he wrote.

The judge acknowledged that the release of the tapes likely will be a reminder of the horror of the attack, but the reality is that the material eventually will be made public.

"The question is not if, but when," he wrote. "Further delaying their release will not ultimately serve to ameliorate the pain the recordings will likely cause to those directly impacted by the shootings."

Prescott said that based on Sedensky's argument, all records and information pertaining to the shooting would be confidential, as would all records of other high-profile crimes involving minors, such as the 2007 Cheshire home invasions.

Under Sedensky's reasoning, the judge wrote, "Any record containing any information regarding a shooting of a seventeen year old by a rival gang member would be exempt from disclosure," regardless of whether it met one of the exemptions under Connecticut's Freedom of Information Act.

Sedensky on Monday closed the criminal investigation into the shootings without filing any charges, but he previously had cited pending law enforcement action as a reason to keep the tapes private.

Prescott said state law does not require that an investigation be closed prior to release of records, and said Sedensky failed to demonstrate how the release of tapes would interfere with the investigation or any potential prosecution. When the FOI Commission made its ruling in June, there was nothing to suggest that any charges would be filed, Prescott wrote.

Sedensky also had asserted that the 911 calls were signed witness statements and that their release could endanger witness safety. After listening to the tapes himself, Prescott said that there was nothing in them that would suggest the release would threaten the safety of the 911 callers.

The recordings of the calls, described in the decision as "harrowing and disturbing," will be released next week, pending an appeal from the state.

Sedensky's summary proved several major points correct (at least as far as the official story is concerned). Holden called 911, and Manfredonia was immediately cuffed by 67 (McGowan) as he (in McGowan's words) was "coming down Crestwood." The summary's transcription also confirms our own, that McGowan said "THEY'RE coming at me" (emphasis added).

So, the theories weren't dumb; they were spot-on.

'They're' can be and often is used to reference a single person, and thats how it was used in this case. You are claiming its fact that 'they're' refers to multiple people, which is the disinformation you are attempting to pass off.

And "Bob" could be used to refer to "Jim"...but if you hear "Bob" then it is reasonable and logical to conclude that the person being spoken to was "Bob".

That's called evidence...and you would need to provide some of your own to refute it. I would think even most 3rd graders would be able to grasp that concept.

Actually they reported 2 shadows runnning past the building - it's on the scanner, omitted from the report.

From the report we read:

From the time the unknown male was encountered by the Newtown police outside of SHES until after the staff and children were evacuated, all responding law enforcement operated under the belief that there may have been more than one shooter and acted accordingly.

For example, K-9 units were brought in to search the area and officers were posted to act as lookouts to ensure the safety of those evacuating the school building. Some people were located in the areas surrounding the school as the searches and evacuations were taking place. Some of those individuals were treated initially as suspects and handled accordingly, including being handcuffed, until their identities and reason for being there could be determined.

Some of these detentions included:

1. The initial unknown male who turned out to be a parent with a cell telephone in his hand;


2. Two reporters located in the woods around SHES, who were held at gun point by Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) police officers until their identities could be determined; and

3. A man from New York who was working in a nearby town and went to SHES after an application on his cell telephone alerted him to the situation at the school. He drove to the firehouse and went up to the school on foot. He was taken from the scene of the school in handcuffs and later to Newtown Police Department. It was later determined that he did not have a connection to the shooting and had gone to SHES to see what was going on.

Note: That makes it 4

A man with a gun who was spotted in the woods near the school on the day of the incident was an off-duty tactical squad police officer from another town, according to the source. (it's so saved as a screenshot)

Oh, you leave out where exactly in CT they pulled over that vehicle?

Was it the purple van with people wearing a nun outfit and a ski mask who may have been involved in this incident as stated on the scanner? It was reported that they were stopped (I got news report)

One of the warrants in the summary Appendix states victims were deceased in THREE classrooms.

Thread: Sandy Hook warrant states some victims were deceased in Roig's classroom

Point being, perhaps the 911 calls also indicate this.
