McMurphy snipA meteor exploded over Tucson, Arizona, Tuesday night with a loud boom — rattling the homes beneath — as stargazers got ready for what will be one of the best celestial shows of the year. “I [saw] this tremendous, white, bright light in the western sky,” Tony Kubrak told KGUN after the meteor shook his home. “It was just … it was absolutely enormous, I couldn’t believe it.”snip The meteor was caught from a distance on a car’s dash-mounted camera, which shows a white light flare in the sky before extinguishing about two seconds later. Anonymous Coward User ID: 49566394 United States 12/23/2013 02:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When we look an an ancient terrain of the earth (old meteor scars) and we see what they have done in THE PAST to other heavenly bodies, like mars and the moons surface I just wonder..... What if... What if we have traveled this path through the galaxy long ago? What if what scarred the moon is just something we went through long ago? What if we are entering that section of the galaxy and it is going to begin scarring the planets again like it did so long ago? Something to think about. :) If I am right, we are going to see a definite uptick in big meteors and landfalls. Hopefully I am wrong. |

The meteor was travelling too slowly and the wrong direction to be a Geminid, NASA’s Bill Cooke told CNN. |
