Need suggestions...HELP for waking up!!!
Okay, I am very stressed because I'm worried about over-sleeping. I've been on winter break for a few weeks and go back to my job on Monday.

Whenever I have time off, my schedule derails and I go back to my night-owl tendencies. Unfortunately, I have to be physically present at my job by 8 AM.

Getting to sleep is very difficult for me, and waking up is even harder. I naturally want to stay up til about 2 or 3 AM and not wake up til about noon.

Help me with suggestions for getting to sleep earlier and waking up without ignoring the alarm!!!!

Thank you!

Re: Need suggestions...HELP for waking up!!!
was hoping to see some suggestions out here !!!!

have one that is deadly for waking up and MOVING on time.

what i do is have the alarm clock a distance away and i must get UP to shut it off as the sound is nasty and annoying.

so when i'm up i'm up and keep moving.

can't think of anything else beyond the nasty sounding alarm and it being AWAY FROM THE BEDSIDE .

all the best !!!!!!!

Thank you for this suggestions.

I already do this, but twice when I had to get up over break, I got up and shut the alarm off and went back to bed!!!! It's like my body's need for rest over-rode my duty to get up.

I'm scared I'm going to miss work!

Please, anyone with suggestions feel free to contribute.

Re: Need suggestions...HELP for waking up!!!
It's hard to get back into the routine, and usually Sunday night after being off for a few weeks...you probably won't sleep well or at all. At least how that's I am. So that takes care of waking up on Monday. :)

Once Monday's finished, just start doing some normal routine stuff again. So working out, dinner, whatever, and try to go to bed at the same time every night that way your body gets use to a rhythm again.

I dread starting my routine again on Monday. I want to be free!

Btw... I see you hate alarms, if you get your body on a sleeping schedule, you may not need one. I ALWAYS wake up before my alarm has a chance to go off.

Thanks for your reply!

I will probably only get a couple hours of sleep on Sunday night, since I'm dreading Monday and worried about waking up!

You and me both. :) Plus, I've been staying up wayyyyy past the time I normally do so it'll probably take all week just to get back into the routine again.

It will help if you let the sunlight in. I kind of assume that no light can enter your bedroom.

Re: Need suggestions...HELP for waking up!!!
Ok calm down. No worries. I've got you covered.

Go the the pharmacy or grocery store, wherever......most gas stations in the u.s. have it too...not sure about canada...but anyway, look for and buy some caffeine pills. In the u.s. the main brand is Vivarin.

Each pill is 200mg caffeine, equal to about a cup of coffee....but the effects hit you more instantly so it seems stronger than drinking a cup of coffee.

Set your alarm about 30-40 minutes earlier than you actually want to wake up. Before you go to sleep, make sure you have a glass of water and a caffeine pill set out close to your bed or alarm clock. In the morning when your alarm goes off, get up, take the pill, and hit snooze. You'll be able to hit snooze another time or two but more than likely, after about 10-20 minutes of taking the pill you will wake up on your own.

Depending on how sensitive to caffeine you are, you may feel a little jittery. If this is a concern, break the pill in half and just take a half. Have the other half ready incase tou keep wanting to hit snooze. Also it would be a good idea to make sure you eat after you get up. As a warning, some people get gas or bloated feeling. Eating that morning will help counter this.

It will be best if you could get a good night sleep but even if dont this will still wake you up. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Awesome suggestion!!!

I will try this!

Also, would you ever recommend trying one of those energy drinks? I've seen them at the store but not sure if it's good or not.

Thanks.

Some people can get a boost from the energy drinks but they dont help me all that much. I definitely wouldn't drink one shortly after taking the caffeine pill in the morning. Drinking one sometime during the day might help give ya a boost but it might make you crash fairly quickly also.

Also, I have seen a few places sell the caffeine pills at a lower dosage so check when you get to make sure they are the 200mg.

and if this males another double or triple post...sorry..
