This happened at the theater we go to often, only 25 minutes from our home. "WESLEY CHAPEL, FL - The Pasco County Sheriff's Office reports that the suspect in a deadly shooting Monday at the Cobb Grove 16 Theater in Wesley Chapel is a retired Tampa Police captain. Sheriff Chris Nocco said that Curtis Reeves, 71, was arrested and charged with second-degree homicide. Investigators are calling the shooting an isolated incident. They say two couples were at the theater watching previews for the movie the "Lone Survivor" when the shooting occurred. Reeves and his wife got into an argument with another couple who were sitting in front of them. The couple seated in front of him, Nichole and Chad Oulson were texting and Reeves asked him to stop several times. At one point, Reeves got up and left the theater and returned to his seat. Chad Oulson asked him if he reported him to theater management for using his cell phone. Even over here this little shooting is blown up as something because though they're very antigun here people still have loads of rifles and stuff and all the shooting clubs are full (you hardly can join), so our Bilderberg minister is trying to ban guns, they made it very hard to get guns now and you have to renew the license like every 5 years etc. with a new checks about you etc. Always when there's a shooting in the US they use it as propaganda against guns over here. Doubt any PTSD was to blame. He was a police captain for many years until retiring in the mid 90's. He probably wouldn't have been able to function in that environment if he was suffering from Vietnam PTSD. But even so, as a former cop and someone who helped create the Tactical Response unit for your department, you'd think you know better than to shoot someone dead in a movie theater over texting. I've been in movie theaters where the OLD people are more annoying than the young kids on their phones. For the most part, texting is quiet. Retired cop probably told him to be respectful and turn off his phone. Guy probably told him to mind his own businesses. Cop either went to tell the theater manager or maybe even went to his car to get his gun. Then came back, and the guy probably was being a smart ass and asked something along the lines of "so you reported me to the manager?" and they probably began arguing. At one point the guy probably got in the other guys face, the wife put her hand on his chest to tell him to calm down or back off and the cop shot him (which explains why the bullet went through her hand and into the guys chest. But still, as a cop you're *supposed to be* trained to not have to use force. This cop was totally out of line regardless. |

I can't imagine many instances where it's not illegal to walk to into a theater or a school and shoot people. The fact that it's already illegal doesn't matter, they need some issue to latch on and make the gun illegal. |
