NOT GOOD. Since that seismograph was showing quiet before that is real.

The way I interpret that is this.

p-wave for the fracture
Actual quake
Harmonic tremor starts and is ongoing..

They really need to tell us WTF is going on, granted it will cause a panic, but wouldn't it be better if we knew about so we could prepare for it?

Everything I have heard and studied on volcanoes, including the BBC Documentary on Yellowstone tells me that harmonic tremors are a precursor to an eruption. So why is our piss ant government (that I served...military) sitting on there fucking ass twiddling there thumbs? It beats the hell out me....

Have a good day everyone and stay safe.

Also...never got my account registration email if a mod happens to see this.

They will not tell the people what is happening, because themselves have no 100% sure, of what is really going on beneath the Yellow ground....

I believe that. I didn't want to go with religious beliefs on this particular topic AND I WONT BUT...I found something interesting that you all might want to know.

79 AD - Mt. Vesuvius erupted wiping out Pompeii and Herculano (Herculaneum)...this also happens to be a Jubilee year. Im not going to go to much into this because I don't want to start a fight. People can have there own beliefs and I will have mine.

People have been going on about the 111 and 44 stuff for several days now and I did verify the location that is going around of 44.4 N 111.0 W. Its the center of the CURRENT Caldera. Here is what I noticed.

44.4 N 111.0 W

4+4+4+1+1+1+0= 15

Normally this would mean nothing, but after all the activity I looked at all the major (VEI 6+ eruptions since 20 AD. They all occur with in a 40 year period around the jubilee years. Usually within 29 years before and after and in some case like Mt. St. Helens 1 before and with Vesuvius they were in line.

The next approaching Jubilee year is 2029. Using the 15 above I took it from the year 2029.

2029-15= 2014. Coincidence probably. Does it mean something. I truthfully cant say, for me stuff like this never adds up.

Have a good day everyone.

Re: Update.. latest reading- Look at this borehole reading from Yellowstone???? Hmmm.....
Over the past few weeks we've been seeing regular small explosions in the seismic record coming from Shishaldin's crater. Each explosion shows up as a low frequency seismic wave that travels through the ground, followed by a high frequency airwave pulse. The airwaves arrive later because energy from the explosion travels more slowly through the air than it does through the ground. While small explosions are often part of the background activity at Shishaldin, we haven't seen them showing up this clearly in the past 2 years. Elevated surface temperatures suggest there is fresh lava in the crater. Since the explosions were observed around the time that the lava was erupted into the crater, the two are probably closely related. We can't say whether the explosions are directly caused by the erupting lava, though, or whether they are just small puffs of gas coming from the crater floor.

magnetic magma?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 49594807

Magma is magnetic. Also, for some reason gravity is not as powerful over magma chambers either (magma is buoyant). Its all (magnetic and less gravity) how they measure magma chambers and the Majestic Plume that extends almost 400 miles to the northwest of Yellowstone.

btw: If you want to know what makes a so called "super volcano" super, its the mantle plume and nothing else. Its what separates so called "super volcanoes" from regular caldera volcanos. Keep in mind a caldera volcano is just a strato volcano that blew its self into a giant hole in the ground. Personally, I tend to worry more about Mount Nyiragongo, which is still a strato volcano but has been confirmed to have a mantle plume. Someday it will blow itself to a crater and be a caldera as well.

Bringing this over from other thread

We were told to not worry until the geysers go silent, well guess what? While the webcams have been down, we seem to be missing very little. Most have gone silent since April 8. Old Faithful is at 10 hours right now although it does this from time to time.

Sure they can all have long lapses, but most of teh big players have gone silent at the same time.

From ThtsMeYouSee
look into the document provided at the link below it may have some revealing answers as to why the geysers were erupting the way they were and why they arent any longer... its not looking good. if water vapor has been expended from the magma chamber then its likely all these latest EQs around the area is showing magma flowing quickly into the yellowstone caldera to fill the void from the lack of gases already released into the atmosphere.. just my opinion

The most abundant gas is water vapor (H2O), followed by carbon dioxide (CO2), and sulfur dioxide (SO2). Secondary gases are also commonly emitted from volcanoes and include hydrogen sulfide (H2S), hydrogen (H), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen chloride (HCl), hydrogen fluoride (HF), and helium (He). The greatest potential hazards to humans, animals and agriculture are SO2, CO2 and HF.

just something i thought was relavent and heres the link to the document i got the above quote from

Water temps for the constant geyser have upticked to 52 c. May mean nothing yet, but I will keep an eye on it for further increases. It seems to be trending upwards. Add this to our other info and we just may have a conspiracy yet.

[link to volcanoes.usgs.gov]

The thing is a drop in temp in some other geysers may not be reliable since it may mean that water levels are too low. Considering that they are not spouting water....
