I used to have a dream that constantly repeated itself, but always at a different point in that life. I am a young boy of about 10, I am in the back of the house in a rather extensive garden looking back toward the house. It has a foyer with black and white marble floors. I know that to the left is the kitchen and to the right leads to the dining area and parlor. I go into the foyer and look through the etched glass. I can see my neighbor's property. Although they seem to be singles we are next to each other in a major city. I think it is Chicago around 1900. It's near Christmas time and the next door neighbor works for the Railroad, as does my father, and my mother has a cleaning business handling rail worker clothes, the business is in a steamy room on an upper floor in the back. The neighbor has a train platform extending from the dining room to his outside concrete area. The trains are going from inside the house to outside. I start to walk toward the living room and wake up.

Another dream, connected. I go a bit farther, I enter into the living room from the dining area. We are entertaining guests and there is music playing. Old, slow, music. I am addressed as David by the guests. I decide to climb the main stairs to visit my Grandmother who is working in that Rail worker clothing cleaning business. I head up the steps and wake up again.

Another aspect. Broad daylight, I see my father, my sister, etc. in the living room. I open the front door and walk out. We are on a street, a big one, with single houses on both sides, but about 11 Rail tracks. I look to the left and there is some sort of civilian crossing enclosed trestle. I know that if I go there, it is the only way to get over to the other side of the street. I turn back in. to the house.
