The Americans Space Based Infrared System(SBIRS), can track the MLRS heat plumes, especially now b/c the SBIRS includes 6 geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO) satellites. Two of the SBIRS GEOs are dedicated to Russia Ukraine, apparently for months.
