You would think someone in west Ukraine had paid attention to the aftermath of US hanky panky in Iraq, Libya, and Syria. I guess that spreading chaos and destruction suggests nobody there paid attention.

Russia has always been open that it is providing moral support, diplomatic support and money to the leaders of the people of Donbas.

How the heck else do you think pensions have been paid to pensioners in Donbas for the last month since Yatsenyuck cut them off many weeks ago? With money provided by Russia to the governments of LNR and DNR of course! And thank goodness, otherwise people of Donbas would be starving because of the criminal neglect to their welfare by the Kiev government. The Soyuz Narodnykh Respublika has many problems, money is not one of them.

EU-US have created this failed state.
There is no way in Hades that Russia is going to pay to clean it up.

Free gas and food and medical aid for Donbas is probably as far as Russia will go, nothing more.
An independent Novorossiya has many problems but it has one big advantage - it will honor none of Kiev's debt.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel held on Wednesday telephone talks with Russian
President Vladimir Putin over the situation in Ukraine, said German government
spokesman Steffen Seibert.
Merkel called for clarification of reports on the presence of Russian troops on the
Ukrainian territory in the telephone conversation.
Russia has repeatedly denied sending troops or military hardware into Ukraine and called
on Kiev to stop the "civil war" raging in the east part of the country, which claimed more
than 2,000 lives.
Merkel said, the contact group, consisting of the Organization for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Russia and Ukraine, must intensify their efforts to achieve
a ceasefire and an effective border security.
Merkel, who called on Russia to do its part, also stressed the great responsibility of
Russia for a deescalation and for monitoring their own border.
As Seibert said, both sides agreed that the talks on the implementation of the European
Union (EU) association agreement, and on the gas supplies between Russia and Ukraine
with involvement of the EU should be continued.
