This is in addition to all the military that has been brought into Crimea for the invasion of Ukraine.

Those numbers are a bit off, at least according to uk estimates. 10',000 we're added in the last week, with further units moving forward yesterday and today, numbering in the thousands

from your data, can u give a estimate of when Russian troops will go into mainland Ukraine? will they need an excuse first? and how far will they go? -- Kiev? a lot of disinfo agents in the alternative media -- who get same scripts, are saying no Russian troops into Ukraine as Putin will just let a country with his pipelines, and ability to make nukes, and is in very close proximity to Moscow -- just turn into one giant red light district. I cannot comment to CIA motives, I have no contacts there. I can tell you they now have enough assets in place to walk in to ukraine virtually unopposed whenever it suits russia. Whether they will or not I have no idea. Certainly the pro Kiev command and control is a shambles and there are still concerns over loyalties, along with faction infighting.

I think they rely on tourism mostly for earnings, from what I've read. So he may mean it could become an economic problem soon.

The reality is that the results of the AWACS flying missions in Poland & Romania (still ongoing btw) were never made public. Additionally there is real-time military satellite data which is equally NOT being made public, rightfully so... Yes, what the official media skims off the internal NATO reports is 30k+10k, give or take . But the reality is totally different, guaranteed, and it changes by the hour.

If Putin decides to send in his troops, he has a narrow window in which to act. The winter of 2014 in Russia and Ukraine was relatively mild with little snow, while the spring is early and warm. The soil is drying rapidly, meaning that it will soon be possible to move heavy vehicles off of highways and into fields in southern areas of Ukraine close to the Black and Azov Seas. A key date is April 1, which marks the beginning of the Russia's spring conscript call-up, when some 130,000 troops drafted a year earlier will have to be mustered out as replacements arrive. This would leave the Russian airborne troops, marines, and army brigades with many conscripts that have served half a year or not at all, drastically reducing battle readiness. The better-trained one-year conscripts can be kept in the ranks for a couple of months but no longer. Otherwise they'll start demanding to be sent home, and morale will slip.

sounds like Russian officers are getting information from their operators in mainland Ukraine, and feeding info to Russian intelligence in order to assess their next move based on current and near future events -- maybe manufactured? they are weighing their options militarily, economically, and politically. The West has def piped down their aggressive rhetoric, so Russia is evaluating that, and probably poking the US on Wall Street again, which is totally hush hush

Do you think that some of that factional infighting and lack of loyalty might disappear if there is an actual invasion that looks aimed at taking Kiev? Obviously there will be some defections, I would imagine Kiev is expecting that anyway.

They actually dont need to create an excuse as they have one already all they need to do is say yankovich ordered them in to restore the country back to its legitimate government this would mean russia would have to invade the whole country reinstall yankovich then some agreement would be made for russian forces to defend the country so it would make it a de-facto russian controlled country and what is to stop yankovich signning a mutual defense treaty with russia right now this would give russia a pretext to invade and remove those who invaded yankovich presidency.

i was right there with this at beginning of coup, but Russia hardly brought up all the evidence, especially the tapes of the West starting this coup. So if they do go in now it will be all the way, in my mind WWIII, because it says Russia does not trust the US one bit and has had enough and all they were doing was mustering their troops. Yes, but it is too bad the author of the article has no honor and fails to point out that (i) England and France, while declaring war against Germany ostensibly to preserve Poland's independence, instead massively aided the Soviet Union when it also invaded Poland, and indeed handed Poland to Stalin at the end of the war, gift-wrapped (honor?), and (ii) how the junta in Kiev is thoroughly dishonorable, as is the West, the IMF, and the EU.

It is one thing to cheer for independence against an outside oppressor, but Ukraine is not being made that offer. The irony is that Yanukovich did want something like this - to form ties to both EU and Russia, trying to negotiate with all parties to achieve this goal. But the EU said no, and when he decided Russia's offer was better, they brought out the knives, and witness the "honorable" result.
