I never claimed sanity, but I claim to not be stupid. Letting the Maiden folk have tanks and armaments against the pro-Russian folks is nothing but genocide and I'm very much against genocide. Kiev is trying to force it's will and power on another section of Ukraine and I'm against that as well. East Ukraine wants to determine their own future. The Kiev govt is no more legitimate than the Donetsk and Eastern govts. Either none are legitimate or all are legitimate. Just because the US give their approval to the govt that overthrew the elected govt of Ukraine does not make it the legitimate govt of Ukraine. I think the only fair solution is to separate East from West in Ukraine.
In a family, as in a country, if Daddy goes berserk, slashes mama's throat and kills 3 of his 9 children, do you think there is ever hope to put the happy family back together again? I don't think so. And the people of Eastern Ukraine will never again feel anything but hatred for the Kievian govt.
It's done. It's over. Ukraine will be lucky to keep the area west of the dnieper if Russia truly gets involved. Kiev should quit while they are ahead.

How long could Ukraine Army hold out against a Russian invssion? Long enough to flee into Poland perhaps?

It seems the Russian separatistas are holding out better in the face of the NATO invasion than would be the case if Russia actually invaded.

The Kiev junta appears to be jumping up and down on thin ice.

It's clearly a test. If they can get away with it once, on the pretext of "transferring aid", then they can do it multiple times, across large swaths of Donbas territory.

And hey, if one of their armored convoys runs into a Ukrainian Army unit that resists, all the better. They can then call in the air support and control the skies too.

If Putin was smart enough he would have started arming an opposition (towards its puppet regime) in Poland but he is not doing it.
