I looked at the current arrival/departure schedule for the KUL airport. As expected, it's a busy place. Right now, they are showing up to 8 departures for every 5 minute time block. That's a plane taking off every 40 seconds or so.

I saw a post another member made here and read the link that flight 370 was delayed for 6 minutes due to some baggage removal.

I am only thinking out loud here since I'm not sure what's all involved in the goings on at an airport...but let's speculate for a minute that maybe 370 wasn't actually late.

Let's say it took off on time (or slightly late). Another plane takes off 40 seconds afterwards, another plane 80 seconds, and so on. If this was premeditated, possibly flight 370's transponder was turned off (the Pilot has access to this) on take off. A spoofed battery powered transponder is in a co-conspirators baggage on another flight. I'm assuming most flights are going to have the same initial flight path initially, so it appears that 370 is on course. 45 minutes later the battery dies and flight 370 drops off the screen. Meanwhile, the 2nd flight continues on to its destination, the passenger collects his bag and goes on his merry way. Flight 370 is then flown to wherever they planned.

I swear that flight 370's flight path animation shows it starting to veer east just before it goes off screen. Now they are saying it turned west.

I would love to see the actual flight path of every plane that departed within 10 minutes before and after flight 370 did.

Think back to the Ethiopian hijack a few weeks back.

My be the pilot just had enough and wanted asylum somewhere but had no idea what's on board and the whole plane HaD to be secreted away

Well one thing is for sure, something very odd has happened and for some reason no country as of yet wants to let it out.

That said, we really don't know the copilots allegiance. He was much younger than the captain and letting those women in the cockpit like he did shows lack of good judgement. Was he part of or a single character in a sleeper cell?

I also wondered if this plane may have a nuclear device on board. Let's face it, if the plane landed in a large city and something like that was on board, I imagine most of the authorities WOULDN'T want it public knowledge.

Just for clarity:

A transponder squawks a code given to the pilot by the originating flight center. Let's say it's 3414. That way each plane has a unique code for the air traffic controllers.

The hijack code is (was) 6600, let's them know without saying it over the radio you are being hijacked. There is an emergency code too, so if you can't use your radio or speak they know.

They can still see you on radar until very close to the ground. That is why drug running airplanes fly very close to the ground to try to evade radar. If you are not complying with radio rules, you will have a "little visitor" in the way of a helicopter or jet or prop plane chase you.

That co-pilot is a bit odd, isn't 27 way to young to be a pilot on a commercial airliner? Maybe they do things a little different in Malaysia.

You can forget about answering any of the. The hijackers of the plane probably put all phones in a basket and put them to the side.

Maybe the answer is simple. An act of terrorism perpetrated by Iranians. Does the details really matter?

To reveal the truth here could be seen as an act of war and they need to be certain.

The current administration in the USA is always reluctent to even use the word terrorism when Muslims are involved.

With the sophisticated flight recorders, the survivability of these units, with the pingers for underwater detection and location, and the transmitted signals that can keep pinging and transmitting for up to 30 days, yeah, unless it left this world somehow, they know where it is.

It is the WHY that is the problem now.
