The last video with the elks almost made me cry for the last elk that was left behind because he wasn't able to jump over the fence but thank goodness happy ending! inspired by a brilliant idea and courage to overcome his/her fears and obstacles even more joyful ending because it appears that the herd kinda waited for him/her on the other side ...

+1 I love a happy ending.

I was also rooting for that little elk to make it across the fence, and it did seem like some of the herd waited for it. They seem more civilized than some people who show such unnecessary hatred for their fellow humans.

the whole concept of the animals displacing could be real.





The Gravelly is not close to Wyoming, imagine west side of Yellowstone closer to Idaho or almost on Idaho property. These Elk are pretty far away from the usual area. they are seriously North of their valley.

maybe the Elk video deserves a thread all to itself.

From Emerald Eyes information the 7.1 hit near Hebgen Lake. All the latest quakes have been near there too.
So near Hebgen Lake again?

that is what I think the Hebgen Lake EQ with a Mag of 7.3-

7.8 most stick with 7.5 on 8-17-59 EQ so that would be

my bet since it seem to be the only known fault that can

produce a mag. 7 EQ or bigger.

Forget the Elk thing.

My husband the hunter said they have gone up to Bozeman before.. Not common but it has happened.

Madison River Seismograph shows the most active quakes in the region. Madison River is next to the Hebgen Lake. If I was an elk, I'd check out Boseman.

What are your instruments telling you about the Cascadia subduction zone? I live in Oregon. Salem area.
