Poor officiating in professional sports accountability
I get that this might not be an ideal topic for this forum....but, whatever.
When you make a purchase for a product and within 1-30 days that product is defective, you can return the product for a refund or sometimes keep the product and have it discounted.
So why do we settle when we purchase tickets, TV pay per view, or things like NFL Ticket or NHL Center Ice? Why do we settle when league hired and trained ref's make game changing decisions that are incorrect? Is that not a defective product? A product that is not up to the standards of the league (though they will never admit it usually). Why has no one sued in recent years to reclaim some money that was spent on a defective product? Or at a minimum why are fans not apologized to?
I get its only sports, folks. But keep it in perspective. It's your money.

Sometimes it's not so much 'poor' officiating as it is making those calls to "massage" the outcome of certain games.

Sports Officials are like "REGULATORS" of a game.

They are there to enforce the rules, and ensure the game is played according to standard accepted practices.

Sort of like all other "REGULATORS"...

We see in Stock Market, Real Estate, Finance, Reporting, Building Industries...etc

"REGULATORS" in many other instances have been removed, underfunded, or knee-capped.

All "REGULATORS" should be removed.

All "Sporting Events" should become "Self Regulating".

Re: Poor officiating in professional sports accountability
There is no accountability. Most refs are in bed with mafia or vegas or just making wagers thru friends. They get to control their own action...must be nice.

There is no recourse. Who knows if the heads of the pro leagues are in on it. I am sure they advise the refs to try and keep the game close for ratings.

Less than 1% of people can make money betting sports....or gambling in general. Its all a crock. Whenever there is a lot of money on side.. watch out.s226
