Who or what exactly defines a pedophile by all the various laws of the land is a very large gray area.
There is a great risk of classifying people wrongly....and they do it even now and ruin many lives.

Difficult to draw the line there....but very true, there are some for sure that there is absolutely no question who and what they are.

I agree. As long as they are collecting welfare they should have reversible sterilization shots. Far too many keep popping out kids and raising their own salaries.

Because the Government is tired of trying to explain why/how their female prisoners are always coming up pregnant. Costs too much money when they get sued and the guards have to be fired to cover up for the fact that these women are loaned out to big corporations as sex slaves.

If it's voluntary, who cares.

If it's involuntary, there's a problem.

The thing is, when a person is in a prison environment and has no legal rights, it's pretty hard to determine whether they are being coerced or pressured or forced.

Either way, it's probably for the best.

My question, though, is why it is being done in the women's prison rather than in the men's?

Male sterilizations are much less expensive, much less invasive and prevent far more unintended, unwanted children than female sterilizations.

A woman can only produce a baby every 40 weeks at the most.

A man can spread his seed practically to infinity.

Why spend more to sterilize women?

Perhaps because we have created a society in which women have become a drain on resources through their ability to draw government benefits while men are expected to pay their own way no matter what.

Either way, snipping the dudes would be more cost effective and more beneficial...

Same should be done to men who are ruthless criminals, rapist, pedophiles, etc. Sterilize and remove every sexual drive they may have.

However, there must be doubtless proof they they are guilty.

In California of all places, prison doctors have sterilized over 150 women. Why? They don’t want to have to provide welfare funding for any children they may have in the future.

The sterilization procedures cost California taxpayers $147,460 between 1997 and 2010. The doctors at the prison argue it is money well-spent.

Dr. James Heinrich, an OB-GYN at Valley State Prison for Women, said, “Over a 10-year period, that isn’t a huge amount of money compared to what you save in welfare paying for these unwanted children – as they procreated more.”
