The stuff Roose Bolton did to Theon was more disgusting and the torture scenes in 24 were often more grotesque as well. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51058537 yea but was the Theon scenes shown? or just implied? I know in Spartacus, they killed a man and cut off his dick, and strung him up... It was cgi of course. Life is a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51058537 Actually it was Roose Bolton's bastard that tortured Theon. I cant remember any shocking scenes in series 3,, nothing like the head crushing stuff in the latest episode. Life is a dream and we are the imagination of ourselves. |

Game of Thrones has officially jumped the shark. After the episode where they shoved that sword through the back of that guys face, I realized the show is done. Is this what we can now look forward to? Characters killed in grandiose fashion merely for the shock value of said death? No longer does character development matter. Now it's just a matter of time before whatever character gets eviscerated just to remind you how this show can eviscerate someone? Shock schlock. It always happens. Take a great show, a great narrative, and demean it to nothing more than torture porn. |

IIRC, some peeling of the skin and crushing of the foot bones was shown, but perhaps I'm more sensitive to implied violence than violence on the screen. There were some scenes in The Borgias that I had to skip. Implied torture and sounds. If it's shown on the screen, it's instant "oh, nice CGI" reaction. However, if it's implied, my imagination creates far worse scenes. |

Actually, this one was virtually identical to the way it was described in the books. Your problem is with the source material, not the show. |

Maybe more so cause it's all in your head, ya know. Can I look forward to it just getting more and more ridiculus? Are they going to start wearing other people's skin? IMO, what made this story so awesome, so far, was the development of the narrative. A grand scheme being played out by grand people across a grand landscape. Throw in a gruesome wedding-day murder an you have my attention. Shove a sword through someone's skull, crush another's with your bare hands and your just showing off. |
