You might want to familiarize yourself with DARPA & the massive amounts of funding that goes into Military R&D, not to mention the proceeds from the drug trade which are funneled into it. A rather historically significant date. LOTS of things have happened on this date, none of them good, as I'm sure other posters have filled you in on by now.

Given the situation in Gaza (booby traps, topography of the place, depth of the bunkers, etc) that would not be "proportional", just "suicidal".

It is true, Hamas would be erased (say 10000 dead, maybe more, otherwise it wouldn't be), but maybe the same number, maybe more for Israel, and an indeterminate number of seriously crippled, etc.; in other words, Israel would also largely erase itself.

And what about the civilians, that Hamas wouldn't let go, just as it is doing now? do you really believe that the final number would be less than, say, 20/30000? plus a town TOTALLY destroyed.

But wait, that hardly recoverable blow to IDF in men and resources is something that somebody would not be displeased to see, perhaps?

I'm not meaning Hezbollah and Iran only, I'm also talking of the people here, for example.
