Seems to me truth is that which describes to one or more persons what has happened who do not have direct knowlege in some respect or aspect ... could be partial or total lack of knowledge. So if speculation is being offered because its a "theory", then be clear and say so.

And if a dupe is being sent out with the pack of lies, well let's have the "sender" immolate. Won't be on live TV but, folks will figure out soon enough the rules of the game have changed.

As I think about it, its hard to know if things were any "truthier" back in the 50s and prior, to quote Colbert. Since the git go of mass electronic communication ... there's always been a lot of spin, half truths, misrepresentations, etc.
