Tricky one IMO if it was just Russia in the region and they took responsibility/liability for the Arms route of Hezbollah & Co Israel wouldn't have a single leg to stand on.

It would in effect become and Russian policed DMZ with Russian peacekeepers.

Take Iran and Hezbollah out of the equation and Israel hasn't got a leg to stand on.

Its all environmental, Hezbollah are capable in the Urban environment more so for the fact they knew the lay of the land, but utilising them elsewhere away from the Middle East where Culture and Religion are more important than anything else they would be tested, for example they couldn't be put on par with SAS Delta or Spetsnaz but stick them in a middle eastern town with a good source of supply it could get interesting.

I'd say they would be comparable to other Guerilla units but only locale to the enviroment of which they fight/fought.

Well, actually I think it is completely opposite. War in Syria is very in favor of Israel. The beef between two countries is well known. Israel occupies part of Golan heghts. The territory is very important for Isaraelis as it provides significant supplies of drinking water. There is the only one sky resort in the country as well. They want to remove Assad because he leads strongly anti-zionist, anti-globalist country but, ta the same time, one of the most progressive countries in the region with secular government and religious pluralism. Pan-Arabic way of thinking of such country is direct threat zionists thus they do everything possible to spark sectarian violence across the region. Support for salafi/wahhabi jihadists is very useful tool for them. Israeli close ties with Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries should not be missed.
