It shows a distinct white line in the distance - is that a road? Can't tell if it has dust or smoke blowing off it. Is that the general area of the fissure? I've never been able to tell which way I'm looking from one view to the other (maybe because I'm in serious need of sleep???) Any help is appreciated for this tired old brain... Quoting: justanothergranny Maybe this might help: [link to imgur.com] At least you'll be able to see where the fissure is or at least an idea of where you might want to look. The smoke from the fissure is a whiter product than the fog/sand/dust storm stuff. INFJ Rarest of Personalities and a walking contradiction. |

Why would there be harmonics like that if there is no local eruption?? How far away is that area from the fissure? TANSTAAFL - There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch |

Just in time to see (or maybe not because of the fog/sand/dust storm!) a new fissure eruption! Before whatever it is that's obscuring the view, it looked like this: [link to imgur.com] Thank you. This little fissure eruptions will be usual in the next days. Nothing special right now. The important is the Bardar Caldera and the Askja region. EQ keep going NE. I agree! I think there will be much much more to this than what she wants to show us now. This is sorta like a preview teaser to the main event. INFJ Rarest of Personalities and a walking contradiction. |

I've not see fog/dust/sand do that before... I agree, it def looks like its originating more or less from a single point and its behaving like smoke/ steam expanding as it moves downwind. And ther is a LOT of it. Guess we'll see if theres anything to it soon enough. Last Edited by arkay on 08/31/2014 03:11 AM |

Camera is shaking so hard it's difficult to watch, but there's a distinct line of what looks to be smoke from ground level. IMHO Just a guess on my part, really. Hope the link works for you.
