‘Shall Not be Infringed’? Rick Perry Now Disallowed from Purchasing Firearms, Ammunition or Carrying Concealed

Federal law makes it a crime for Gov. Perry to receive or buy a firearm while he is under indictment for his supposed crime.

The Governor does not need to do either. He can open carry just like a police officer. He open carried while on the border. He already possesses several firearms, so there will be no need for him to purchase anythign "new."

This is the time when some one should say fuck federal laws.

There are so many problems with this on so many levels...

Corruption
Bill of Rights vs. statutes
Federal invasion of state rights
Power struggles
109 years behind bars for cutting funding using veto power
Donkey vs. Elephant
Border protection
And Governor looks like a weak libtard

Like we're watching a really bad grade B episode of "Gunsmoke", "Ponderosa" or "Big Valley".

It's the indictment that's bullshit.

I don't have issue with curbing someone's gun rights temporarily while under investigation.

It's the crooked politics that lead to fraudulent charges that really pops my tart.

I dont think texas is open carry state.

The ATF will be doing a "housecall" on him and removing his shit.

You guys are coo coo. When the Detroit mayor gets indicted, there weren't any threads boo hooing over the future felon not being able to purchase fire arms.

Rick perry is just controlled opposition and wouldn't give two shits about the border if he wasn't worried about being ousted by his home states people who have been watching him sit back and do nothing about it for YEARS.

He had his chance but he is a blow hard.

Their laws mean nothing to me.If they are unwilling to follow the basic laws of the land so am I.

While the logic behind wanting to keep firearms out of the hands of felons might appear unassailable, there is two problems with such provisions as currently written:

1) Gov. Perry is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The fact that he is barred from exercising his constitutional rights while merely under investigation indicates an unacceptable inverse of this important foundation of justice.

2) The Second Amendment allows for no such restrictions. It even goes so far as to say that the right to keep and bear arms “shall not be infringed.” It makes no mention of statutes that forbid firearm purchases by those under indictment.

What an obamanation this democrat party has become...just remember folks if this can happen to a sitting Governor, malicious prosecution can happen to you too.

Laws mean nothing to democrats, winning does, so that their march to destroy this country goes forward...

I am defending the rule of law, I am not particularly a Rick Perry fan, but what happened to him is, and continues to be, a disgrace.

While I actually don't have a problem with barring someone under federal indictment, it would seem to be unconstitutional. Not because of 'shall not be infringed', either, but because supposedly our legal system is based upon a presumption of innocence.

Then again, there's always a double standard with the second amendment.
