Few notes on the Bardarbunga eruption
1. The magmatic pressure on the Bardarbunga caldera is causing earthquakes and expansion of the caldera in the NW - SE direction : Link : [link to www.vedur.is]

2. Most of the energy from the magmatic pressure on the caldera has been taken by a 40km+ rift from the caldera in the NE direction. Earthquake data indicates the rift is from magma boundary and up to the surface in 3 instances. : [link to www.vedur.is]

also here : [link to www.vedur.is]

3. The best indicator for future activity in the area are caldera earthquake and expansion data. This will indicate whether activity is increasing or decreasing.

4. Daily number of earththquake is no longer an indicator of increased or decreased activity concerning the NE fissure, since most of the bedrock has already breen broken up.

5. If pressure on the caldera continues expect increased volcanic activity along the 40 km fissure, including under glacier eruptions.

Re: Few notes on the Bardarbunga eruption
It should also be noted that there is a real potential for large scale rifting episodes, including subsequent climatological changes. This volcano has created lava flow from on end of the country to another (Eyrabakki to near Húsavík). However it also has a long history of relatively modest events. Mammals seem super-relaxed here, including, cats, dogs, humans but also the birds seem good. So I assume its gonna be ok.

Another thing : last major eruption of Bardarbunga was around 1477 then before that in 870. The volcano is probably connected to other major yogurt producing facilities woldwide.
