It might have something to do with cost, technology, quality perhaps of materials or overall. It might also have something to do with date of delivery.

Sometimes you have to ask why any nation would build a warship for another nation. Is it really worth the money? Small arms are sold by many countries all over the globe and sometimes you have to ask is that worth the security risk.

Well, it was not just France, France was the one that won the contract, both the Netherlands and Spain competed for the contract.

It was back in an era where they where trying to woo Russia as the US pulled out of Europe.. eg Dow sold their refinery in the Netherlands to Lukoil, and Russian Corps where after stakes in GMs Opel brand..

So, there you have it, the US finances where following out of Europe and Russian money was coming in, so they where intent on doing everything to woo Russia..

The question was, why would Russia buy a warship from France, the other side of that question is, why would France sell a warship to Russia..

For Russia it was in terms of a lacking the ability to built their own in the timeframe, this expands into why Russia brought refineries in Europe rather than build their own..

Putin is pretty peeved about that and until recently was going to tax those Russian companies that where neglecting building infrastructure in Russia.. he only recently relented on those tax increases...

that is why Chinese bid so low on US military contracts, they launch all US satellites so they got the technology.

Manufacturing secrets and techniques all go to the country that's manufacturing your products, to do it below cost is a wise move initially, then they just copy it at another factory.

You are probably right about this. They have to create a situation where Americans accept the global currency and relinquish being the super power. I would love to see their script on how this will take place. Last I heard the only countries that have not agreed to the deal are Iran, North Korea, Venezuala, Cuba and a couple others.
