I work remotely (not in the office) for a US company. I stay for 6 months at a time usually, then head home to the US for 2-6 weeks, then come back for another 6 months. I rent because I prefer hopping around from place to place so I can see which areas I like better. Lifestyle? FAR BETTER. Money goes twice as far under the exact same living conditions as in the US.

Yeah I am over it. I could care less. I think Mexicans flying a flag is just as stupid as Americans who fly a flag. It's ridiculous and shows a great amount of ignorance. I also think arguing over who flies a flag where/when/how is ridiculous.

There are more important things to consider being upset about - that's my point.

Actually, tell me about your knowledge of the US. I don't remember anyone hopping on a forum based in Portugal and speaking Portuguese and insulting Portugal. You however thought you'd be smug and insult the US like it's the cool thing to do.

I'm not directly insulting the US, but the majority of it's ignorant citizens, I'm sure theres good people too and regarding the law I saw people quoting some law saying the national flag needs to be raised above any other flag or something of the sorts.

I read your first response, before the edit, and thought you were being civil so I would too and not respond. But then you had to edit and your smug eurotrash attitude came out.

My point was that nobody insulted portugal. People love insulting the US while at the same time using many of the benefits the US has given the world. Are we perfect? Fuck no. We have issues and lots of them. Not enough to keep a shit ton of illegal immigrants out. Not enough to keep out thousands of legal immigrants every year. And I'd bet that even though Americans outnumber portuguese 30 to 1, more portuguese come to the US every year than vice versa.

That said, I doubt I'll even live in the US when I settle down. But I won't sit in a a little obscure country and bash an entire nation by calling it third world when I have my own issues.
