Anonymous Coward User ID: 50486882 United States 10/15/2014 08:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm a nurse. I would have been gone awhile ago. Especially if they weren't supplying proper protection gear. Quoting: GMR 1022496 What would you do if they held a gun to your head or threated you in some way to continue working as a nurse. I feel for you and am worried for your safety. I bet they will force some nurses/doctors to attend to the rich and sick even if the nurses and doctors don't want to participate. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 64104191 United States 10/15/2014 08:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Perfectly understandable that the nurses felt they had to report anonymously, well known that they are intimidated by Nursing Administration into keeping there mouths shut OR ELSE. Happens in every hospital every day of the year. Would LOVE to see the INCIDENT REPORTS on this shit. These are INTERNAL reports of fuck ups that would get the damn hospitals SUED. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 63954760 Mexico 10/15/2014 08:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Dallas Hospital concerned over Nurses walking out. New that was coming. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1022496 Did you know that the infected nurse in Spain was given just 30 mins of training to use the gear for treating ebola patients? Some medical expertnon FOX said that the recommeded minimum period required for ebola gear and appartus training for medical staff was two weeks. Without this training and knowledge, they would be liable to the contagion and this is just one if the reasons that medical staff do not want to risk treating anyone, just like the airline staff who went in strike - they don't feel adequately protected from a highly infectious virus that will result in death. Why shouldnt they be concerned? Soon all will be as worried, if this thing is not contained. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 64060315 United States 10/15/2014 08:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Are any nurses in here? If so, please answer this: For ebola, what besides IV hydration are you going to do, that could not be do be by the patient in their own home. Even for IV hydration, there has to be a way for a patient to self administer. I have not heard of anothing requiring a hospital stay and critical care. Your body either fights it off or you die. To keep your body fighting it, staying hydrated and maybe some IV food is pretty much all it seems you can do. Just curious for a couple of reasons: beds are going to run out quickly and for each new ebola patient showing up, you got another 10 trillion viruses shedding in a concentrated space. |

This is not going to end well at all. Quoting: pmb1 IMO, nurses are ridiculously over-payed and under-educated. At least a half of those that I've seen. What do you expect from a nurse who is in business just for money, not because she wants to help people? |

What do you expect from a nurse who is in business just for money, not because she wants to help people? IMHO, nurses are well educated and under paid as they do all the work and then the doctors swoop in and take all the credit. I guess it's the hospital and part of the country where you live as to what quality of health care professionals you receive in your health care. |

These nurses have been put in harms way, when the first one got sick(Nina) they attempted to throw her under the bus and say she violated protocol. I also have a problem with the anonymous aspect of this -- stand up, be heard... if it is that serious, you have a duty to do so. Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

-Dead Man Walking- User ID: 47620947 United States 10/15/2014 09:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | what happens if (GOD FORBID) 50 people come down with ebola. Can you imagine how thin a nurse staff would become. What nurse would even want to work in that if they are not properly paid, insured, protected, staffed, respected? I'm thinking in the next few weeks we may see major travel bans. Flu & Cold season hits people will begin to literally freak out. “I don't trust society to protect us, I have no intention of placing my fate in the hands of men whose only qualification is that they managed to con a block of people to vote for them.” -The Godfather |
