The passage that you state has nothing to do with plagues or pestilence. The word isn't even it this passage. If you'd like a better understanding of 'pestlence' see the first part of Acts 24.

I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
