the biggest problem is with the money suddenly left worthless or unusable anything requiring use of money stops since nobody wants to trade worthless paper for time or other property.

With all commerce stopped, everything stops.
leisure is pretty much over as hand to mouth existence with no security whatsoever

Within a few hours, panic would grip the country, stores would be wiped clean, people would abandon their work and confusion would lead to massive civil war and anarchy.

It would be terrible.... people will go nuts

if and when the smoke clears who owns the mortgages what about the abandoned buildings who owns them? does everybody start back at 0?

mortgage contracts will be adjusted to screw you at the whim of the banks and gov. I promise you, everyone will get screwed. You can't game the system against people who wrot the rules and change them at their pleasure. Don't think you can keep your house. You will *pay*.

as for forclosures... the Federal Reserve Bank has purchased about $2 TRILLION worht of mortgages (via MBS, mortgage backed securities). They will leverage those mortgages to recover from the collapse of the "dollar" (AKA: Federal Reserve Note). They'll issue new currency based on their book assets or just sell your house to the Chinese, et al.

Unless you're one of the elite -- and I don't mean the 1%, but the 0.01% -- you (and all of us) will get screwed. prepare for that eventuality.

Panic, stores sell out of food within 12 hours. Riots within 24 hours as all welfare and food stamp benefits are cut off.

Martial law implemented, troops on the streets, mandatory curfews. People shot on sight for looting and crime.

Within 72 hours a reset of world currency, the FED cuts a deal with the IMF, an announcement is made that the dollar will be replaced by the SDR, the IMF currency.

A joint effort by UN forces and military around the world to stabilize food supplies and to keep basic services up and running, keep the peace.

Within a few weeks a chipping program will be put into place, holding all banking information, health information, and it will be trackable.

The world reforms into ten specific regions. Individual countries will be allowed to keep their names but in name only. Open borders, complete central government control.
