Automation engineering will eventually replace no or low skilled employees who are very much replaceable from a management point of view. Low income culling is part of globalization.

Some are missing the point. STRONG ARM and FORCE employers to pay more for unskilled untrained bottom rung of the ladder workers, and they WILL figure out a way around paying them that higher wage. It's called running a business.

who are your customers genius?

Are your customers magical people who live in the clouds with magic money that falls from the sky?

or are EVERYONE'S CUSTOMERS someone else's employees,

and by pull as many employees out of the loop you are bringing down the very system that is

YOUR GOD,

but, dont let my logic jar you,

please please, i will dance for joy that day it all falls down

FASTER BETTER yada yada, replace everyone with a robot,

I think this is great. I've been in stores many times where I've had to explain something to a "grown man" like I'm talking to a child.

Where do you keep the reciprocating saws?

Sorry sir, we don't sell sauce here.

And electric saw!, you know, for cutting!

Knives are in section C

...I know a robot (or even a monkey) can do a better job than that.

Wasn't there a thread about a robot that talked to you on the phone and had a conversation and it was difficult to discern that it was not human?

Everyone get engineering degrees. Repairing and debugging these things will be lucrative. Not to mention the potential hack attacks. Just wait till some old lady dies because a hacker programmed it to push her onto a saw.

you can gauge by the comments in this thread that people dont nearly grasp how fucked they are,

and how fucked capitalism is about to be.

The mantra of greedy capitalists is:

FASTER, BETTER, CHEAPER,

a robot to replace ALL my employees?!!!!!!!!!!!!

in 5 to 10 years?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND I CAN POCKET WHAT I USED TO PAY MY EMPLOYEES!!!!!!!!!!

I WANT IT RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

robots will be able to do about 90% of ALL jobs by about 2025. And, then what?

2 questions always get overlooked:

1. Who will buy products when no one has a job?

2. What usually happens when people get shoved hard up against a wall with no hope, no money, and no future of ever having work again?

get your popcorn ready, you are about to witness the painful end of capitalism. brought to you by capitalism.

popcorn

People that are displaced will do one of two things act out or in. If they choose to act out watch crime spike, mass protests, revolutions and vandalism of robots. If they choose to withdraw in they will turn to drugs, booze, over eating, self mutilation and suicide. Suicide rates will sky rocket in the future as people lose hope and many of these people will be healthy, young people in the prime of their life.

that's GREAT.

$15/hr wage WAS TOO FUCKING LOW.

automation will make the company MORE PROFITABLE;
THEREFORE, THE WORKERS THEY KEEP,
CAN DEMAND 25 DOLLARS AN HOUR.

Some are missing the point. STRONG ARM and FORCE employers to pay more for unskilled untrained bottom rung of the ladder workers, and they WILL figure out a way around paying them that higher wage. It's called running a business.

ESPECIALLY when it is oppressing the poor...

conservatives / republicas, LOVE THE LAW,

EXCEPT WHEN THEY ARE BREAKING IT.

THEN, it is SUDDENLY not such a big deal to break the law.

OSHbot here now. They are going to be killing a lot of those bottom feeder jobs. So much for their 15/hr raise. Not only are they not going to get a raise, they will be fired.

LOL the Lowes in my area has 20+ people in every isle. With the collision avoidance on this robot the damn thing will never move with so many shoppers!

I applaud Lowes for trying something new, but if this is the only way I can get help at a Lowes I will stop shopping there.

The terrorists attacks which will be launched in the United States will be blamed upon middle eastern religious fanatics, Christian fundamentalists, white supremacists, Patriots, or Militias. A more immediate result of these operations will be the increased use of military forces, weaponry, and equipment such as tanks and armored personnel carriers in civilian law enforcement, the suspension or elimination of Habeas Corpus, the elimination of jury trials, the attempted disarming of the American People, and the institution of martial law with show-trials conducted by a tribunal of judges. - William Cooper 1997 (RIP)

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. - John 3:19

In the short term it will be but they will eventually have robots that repair and debug robots no humans needed. That will be the second phase of the robot revolution getting rid of the few humans left that still have a job and those humans will be forced to create their own replacements just like American and Canadian workers have been forced to train their cheaper foreign replacement workers. Greedy and evil it is.

they will immediately run to the luddite analogies and say see see, machines took jobs, and then new jobs were created.

Yes, thats what happened,

IN THE MID 1800'S!!!!!!!!

ahahahaah

the robots coming will be as smart as people, and be able to do EVERYTHING that people can do. They will design themselves, and they will fix themselves,

any new jobs that get created can be automated a ta fraction of the cost,
