Until the Ebola lab results come in there is always the possibility of coinfection. It's debatable how likely this is though.

Good news perhaps but malaria is still pretty nasty stuff. A coworker of mine was visiting congo last year and was stuck there 3 weeks cuz of malaria.

If it's true its spread through mosquitos then I'm going with good news. Mosquitos have been gone for a bit now. Just glad its not Ebola, I have a Comic Con to go to in Tulsa in a couple weeks. Thought I might have to cancel. lol.

The malaria test should only take a few hours so it's hard to understand why they waited overnight to announce it. I'm not saying it isn't malaria, it's just annoying how irresponsible the reporting is.

I agree with you 100% about the reporting. They've waited until overnight hours to report on almost every case of suspected ebola so far. And I'm sure they will continue to do it like that. It is strange. They say they're still testing for Ebola, so we'll see if it is only malaria or a combination, or what.
