The treaty was never ratified, and never will be. Emperor Barry thinks he can sign it and it means something. As usual, he is wrong! No treaty can have any legal effect on America, or Americans, unless it is ratified by the senate. Most of the democraps wouldn't put their names on that one! There wouldn't be any republicunt vote for it, so it will die again. I'm sure the Resident of the United States will bring it up again next year too. The ass-hole in chief has tried to make it look like the most recent version is "gun control light", but this one is far worse than the earlier versions. Along with all the feel nice "keep the guns from the terrorists" bullshit, it says this treaty includes the earlier version. That means they want to take all guns from all law abiding citizens.

UN treaties are in not law in the USA.
...and it would take an UBER majority vote to make it law.

Yes, we knew this. Pretty shady giving it a Christmas eve effective date. Wtf? No other day of the year are people more distracted/busy. However, without ratification by Congress, I don't think it is official. I expect he will start quietly imposing part of it through executive order or memorandum. He will also likely use the Dept of Health and Homeland security in this. I anticipate may publicly act like he is trying to get Congress to ratify it while working behind the scenes to implement it. Also look for more FF shootings by "crazy people." He will use these to try to justify his actions when caught.
