Anonymous Coward User ID: 66087037 United States 12/15/2014 12:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When all other currencies are valued in relation to the dollar, and other countries economies are turning away from paper based economies, it will APPEAR that the dollar is strengthening while everything else is devaluing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66087037 However, it is just a farce. If the rest of the world is ditching the dollar to move to an alternate from of currency (resource, instead of faith backed,) of course the player who insists on sticking with paper is going to be on top--until the switch is fully made. Since we make the financial rules that everyone is currently playing by, of course during this economic war we are willing to harm our allies economies in order to save our own. It's desperate and it won't work. See: opening of BRICS bank soon. It seems like the BRICS countries don't care if their current economic models collapse. I think they want to replace it. Collapsing the current system isn't such a bad thing if you've planned for it. We haven't though as a country, we've been preparing for war instead. So, if Russia and China have already resolved that the current economic system is unsustainable, in order to break our economy, all they need to do is let theirs fail. Which countries do we think will handle this change well? Nobody really considers the possibility that BRICS may actively be trying to take down the established financial systems, and in order to do so their own economies also require failure. It's like mutually assured financial destruction, except BRICS planned it and probably already created controls for when SHTF. No offence to you, but in my humble opinion this is what it looks like when currency is not manipulated. The only reason things haven't already crashed in this country is that we manipulate our markets. |

Dec 15 (Interfax) - Russia's Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) has proposed setting up a financial crimes unit at one of Russia's two top criminal investigation bodies to prevent illegitimate outflow of capital from banks and other financial institutions. Audits of 220 banks and three pension funds have shown that more than 80% of bankruptcies are caused by "non-market factors, namely the withdrawal of assets from financial organizations and the improper formalization of commitments," the DIA said in a statement on Monday. That's if there is any good foods left in our store. Utility bills spiking as well :( What I wouldn't give for some stability and prosperity now! If any foreign minister begins to defend to the death a "peace conference," you can be sure his government has already placed its orders for new battleships and aeroplanes. |

Quoting: canadian oldster It's because everything Russia needs to import is getting crazy expensive. So food that's imported gets more and more expensive as the ruble tumbles. When oil prices are high food prices rise because more of the food is used for bio-fuels which become more economically viable at high oil/energy prices. |

Groceries and utility bills are going to go through the roof. Watch carefully Americans, this is what will happen to the dollar as well. Our time is coming. "God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |
