Why not use language like "I think" or "I believe" appropriately, instead of claiming something as a fact/certainty? Your 'evidence' is your belief, not any experience. Can you address the fact that you stated this something is 'endless' when the Hebrew & Greek terms of the earliest scripture do not signify this English (mis)translation (nor 'forever and ever' nor 'eternal')? I'm also having trouble wrapping my mind around something. Do you believe in an omnipresent 'God'? If so, how can you identify somewhere where 'God' is not present? A controversial topic that will probably upset you. "Hell exists because God made us with the ability to love, and that requires the ability to hate. And if God allowed everyone to go to heaven, then He would turn heaven into hell and for all of eternity unleash onto the redeemed the "hell on earth" that so many people already lament. And if God replaced St. Peter's gate with a revolving door, then the rebellion, pride, hatred, cruelty and selfishness that has spoiled the paradise of Eden would forever spoil the heavenly paradise. Also, the deity of Christ and eternal punishment are related doctrines, for cults that do not know that Jesus is God also tend to reject the eternal hell. If the punishment of sin is not eternal, then God could have created something of sufficient worth to pay the price, and He would not have had to sacrifice His infinitely worthy Son. But when Jesus prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will," because the Father's love for the Son was immeasurable, we can be sure that there was no other way to pay for the sins of men. And so, because the demands of righteousness required a full payment for sin, the penalty for sin could not be a finite prison term, for then Jesus Christ would not have had to pay with His life." A controversial topic that will probably upset you. "If you love me, you will keep my commandments… “Amen, I say to you, what you did not do for one of these least ones, you did not do for me.” And these will go off to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life. (John 14:15; Matt 25:45-46) "But what profit did you get then from the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now that you have been freed from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit that you have leads to sanctification, and its end is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 6:21-23) "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. (John 3:16)" "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him. (John 3:36)" However, the emphasis of the Gospel is not the threat, but the invitiation. As Jesus said, “God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” St. Peter’s first homily after Pentecost expresses this perfectly: "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord… (Acts 3:19)" |

Quoting: Citizenperth everyone is judged by their works... this still rings true for me today, and is a tenant of pretty much every religion.... That's what I was afraid someone would say. Lots to make up for. Drugs, sex and rock and roll...and all that. it depends on what you are aware of in your heart of hearts if you are convicted or not how much you know about God if you know the truth and purposefully go against it if you know the light and go against it then you are held accountable we are held accountable for what we know to be true in our hearts sex drugs and rock and roll, is why Christ died on the cross, for the parts we don't know and are not aware of I believe that we need to repent for our sins (feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin.) I stop and try to think of all the wrongs I have done, all of the sins I can remember. It seems that every day I remember one that I have forgotten from long ago. Thoughts, words and deeds. There's an abundance of them, for me anyway. New ones too. Each time I remember hurting someone or thinking wrongly I ask my Father in heaven for forgiveness. It's a process but I think it's worthwhile. It helps me realize what a damned fool I was...and sometimes still am. Jesus said, Your sins are forgiven...Go and sin no more. LOL!!! that's one of the best quotes for tonight "the sins you remember"..... hehehehehe.... i hope i get forgiven for the ones i would appologise for but forgot as i get older... It's life as we know it, but only just. [link to citizenperth.wordpress.com] sic ut vos es vos should exsisto , denego alius vicis facio vos change , exsisto youself , proprie |

Jesus said, Your sins are forgiven...Go and sin no more. when you are born of spirit you sin less and less, or rather the conviction is stronger….it doesn't mean that what we do is perfect and just all the time but it means we are dead to the old ways of not listening to that voice, because when you are born of spirit that voice dominates and convicts us we are told to confess to one another our sins, a heavy conscious can't pray clear to the Lord our own conscious convicts us |

A controversial topic that will probably upset you. I'm convinced eternal life has nothing to do with the life of this body. The 5 senses and the imagination cannot fathom life as a spirit. That means this entire system of this world could be wrong -works, ranks, grades, ratings, levels might not be how eternal life would be. We consider Jesus to be a king. But a king is an Earthly concept. But maybe as a human its the easiet way to understand that he is over all. All authority...power But he as a man (who was one with the heavenly father) did not value gold or bling bling. And dressed modestly as he set an example for people to follow. |

[link to www.godsplanforall.com] :574747: I was shocked many years ago when I found out that all the times we read the word hell in our modern bibles that it actually means grave in the original meanings of the words. hell means she ol the grave but the lake or brimstone is something else Yeah, I realized that I overgeneralized there and corrected my original post to read almost all the times but I did so after you responded. Sorry, I had to update this post too to include the "so." I'm operating on only 5 hours of sleep for the last two days and not thinking too clear right now. np I actually come here to relax lol sleep is something we all need more of I think |

A controversial topic that will probably upset you. For those of you that claim to serve the Christ read the word, Quoting: M1.618 It is plainly evident in the gospels of the place of weeping & gnashing of teeth spoken by the Christ. For those that do not, believe what you may, Yet if even in this world there is consequence, why would it be different in the next as order (doing what is proper), is a part of Love equally as significant as forgiveness (grace) Do you think it will be different then? How? So in your mind the only two possibilities are 'endless torment' versus no accountability/consequences at all? Is your interpretation of 'you reap what you sow', meaning that if you choose the wrong beliefs during your finite lifetime in this confusing, erratic world with hundreds of religions & philosophies to choose from - you get tormented for eternity with no chance for refinement nor redemption? Is that your understanding of 'reaping what you sow' and the type of universal justice that would originate from a divine intelligence/energy described as 'LOVE'? |
