Sort of starting from scratch and wanting to go in a direction that is in harmony with my chart.

But you are Scorpio the rest will determine the details but I would suggest studying Scorpio first . Not a easy sign . Your life is death and transformation . Also Let go of the control . It's what every Scorpio is dealing with now .

I have for the most part been letting go of control as best I can tell but I am quite unsure sometimes about what to do at a given moment... Kind of winging it but that doesn't seem like it can go on for too long.

lol... perhaps in some regards. A strong presence I am indeed but I reserve asserting myself strongly over others for when it is necessary to settle down someone in my presence who is out of control.

Not quite. I won't accept and serious challenges that I won't spend the time preparing for, I will however endeavor in things I am not currently strong at. I am sort of a calculated risk taker as opposed to a gambler. Life has taught me that I am only lucky when I absolutely need it for the most part, subtract that and I am pretty unlucky in a general sense.

I am not against risks but I certainly agree with you that I have missed out on a many of things due to not being so generous as it relates to taking risks.

As a sidenote I have in many times went with someone elses flow and more times than not it turned out badly. If you want something done right then do it yourself applies to this aspect.

Not with my intimate relationships as I don't just let anyone in. For passer-by's in my little world however I have no problem cutting one off completely although I tend to leave open fair opportunities for redemption. I am somewhat superficial to a degree in material things but not to an extreme extent nor are my relationships very superficial. Being open I might say that some are superficial only in the sense that another must not be perfect for me to accept, so perhaps but only in the sense that I appraise others character and will allow them to remain even if I don't like the entirety of the person. Until they cross the line of course.

Critical is the predominate way my mind works but I can be right brained as well. I do often consider the universe has me although my mother was gone at age 5 so motherly is not something I know much of.

The following is a bit "simplistic", but, hopefully, will be somewhat helpful -- i taught contracts for quite a few years at a law school in SoCal :) Your chart is wonderful - -plenty of depth and spirit. The "plenty of Virgo" gives you high intelligence, groundedness and "decency" -- my best two students were Virgo women who became judges, one federal, one state. Antares is actually in Sagittarius, due to precession. Its now at 9 Sagittarius. It drifts 1 degree every 72 years. Your moon is close enough to be conjunct.

One of my most memorable moments in learning contracts comes from the footnotes of "Contracts: Examples & Explanations" by Brian Blum and is in regards to consideration being fun and reads "Obviously, depending on your idea of fun. It does help to be deranged". lol

I do have a little experience in law although I never practiced law of course but in intellectually dissecting a freind of mine's experience I learned & taught another lawyer how to get around lack of notice, Florida being very strict on notice, by offering a continuance at a later date and the other party accepting, (should the other party fail to contend that such was never agreed upon) the other party has effectively given up all claim to not being served properly. In a place like Texas such would probably not matter but in Florida that is huge!

Sagittarius is concerned with the law

This is a pretty conflicted chart. You will have identity issues with all that Virgo competing with fire signs (sag and leo)

Scorpio is concerned with power, Leo is about self/ego and Sag will be funny and noncommittal.

Sag in Venus means you won't want to feel boxed in a relationship

Take a good look at which houses your Jupiter and Saturn fall into.

Both are Virgo so need to sort that. One planet symbolizes luck and fortune and the other symbolizes challenges and bad fortune.

Perhaps the Scorpio concern of power (or not relinquishing such) is achieved through Sagittarius's concern of law. I do have bouts with myself over ego but I think it is kept in check well, I attempt to anyways. I definately feel the conflicts you speak of at the core though.

Research in the field of medicine, biology, nutrition, or the like.

With so much mutable earth--you would get enjoyment from something like archeology, or something to do with terra-forming, ie. agricultural sciences, etc.

Perhaps that explains lack of general luck except when I most need it... And perhaps life's constant new challenges will eventually end in some sort of fortune other than wisdom, at least the last part is what I keep telling myself.

All great recommendations to be quite honest, and I am going to ponder through to see which are viable for someone, mid-30's, who dropped out of college pre-maturely to get rich & failed over & over, lol, sometimes my fault, other times not.
