Anonymous Coward User ID: 66771071 United States 01/28/2015 05:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few years back I had wrist surgery for a non union fracture and the insurance was billed 22k total for the surgery. In conversation with the doctor he mentioned there was another young man who did not have insurance and it ran him 17k out of pocket and that was with him finding him doctors who were willing to take less due to the circumstance. So I guess in my case it might have paid to have such an insurance however typically if you are going to have an ER visit it is 3-5k per incident, usually and hopefully they turn out to be nothing so really the only time insurance pays with deductibles so high is purely for catastrophic occurrences and with the cap that this specific insurance puts on the insured the only outcome where you save any money is if it is a minor operation that is not life threatening but requires surgery. I do not see this as a viable form of insurance even for those that might fall under financial hardship. Literally medicaid or finding pro bono work by new surgeons is probably the better route financially than paying into something where you seem to lose unless you fall in that small window where the bill is less than 125k. |

And they are legitimately exempt form Obamacare. I have good, fairly inexpensive insurance for the whole family. Work pay for most of it and they have not given any indication of doing anything different. But, if push comes to shove and they raise prices like I have seen some places, I will join one of these. |

I asked them if they're really aca approved and she said she did not know, as they only deal with insurance companies. I then asked her how I determine if they're really aca approved and she did not know. apparently there is no way to verify this, anyone can claim this I guess. |

Most everything else will be out of pocket. What's the deductible on the Obamacare Bronze plan? Bronze: Deductible is 3000 person 6000 family. Max out of pocket is 6350 person 12700 family. You'd be sick if you knew what the premium is. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1550123 United States 01/28/2015 10:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Christian Healthcare Ministries Quoting: ohyea 12751916 That's Right, plans start at $45 per month no matter your age or your income, $5000 deductible and $125,000 max pay out per incident per year, they also have plans for $150 per month that has no deductible. Obama Care Approved.. Me and my wife earn $70,000.00 per year and Obama Care wants us to pay $610.00 per month for the bronze plan that has a $6000 deductible, that's a rip off, Christian Healthcare Ministries won me over, we are healthy and need no medication so why pay out the nose for health care.. So if the sickness/accident costs more than 125k then the person is responsible for the rest of the bill? That could get expensive. |

Most everything else will be out of pocket. That's the point. When people have to pay out of pocket they think before spending, when there's no deductible they just spend without thought. I never forgive and I never forget I am a licensed firearm holder. I will, under protection of law, use lethal force if attacked. |

Yes, they end up clogging up doctor's offices with just a runny nose or because they are bored or just hypochondriacs. |

Most everything else will be out of pocket. Some of us are healthy and young and only need catastrophic insurance. You should try eating healthy, reading books and excercising instead of buying into the "Take the pills, take more, more, MORE!" Pharmacy propaganda. If people weren't obese, being on medicine and having doctors would be a weird-o thing, like it was throughout human history until recently. Insurance was originally created for catastrophes only. People lived long, healthy lives and didn't take pills everyday. Your brain must be sick too. |
